About the Role:

 

The Sr. Analyst of Global Strategy is an integral member of the team, reporting to the Director of Global Strategy, and provides tactical support on a broad range of projects of high importance to Boston Scientific. Project topics will range from the exploration of key opportunities and risks to the blueprinting of new sources of growth. The Sr. Analyst will also be involved in supporting the assessment and prioritization of select M&A and VC opportunities.  The Global Strategy Team directly supports Boston Scientific’s senior leadership, including its CEO, CFO, as well as the Board of Directors.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

1.    Conduct Primary and Secondary Research. Tactical execution of research projects using a variety of sources in support of evaluation of growth opportunities, assessment of critical technological or market issues, and M&A diligence. The Sr. Analyst will help to structure initial research approaches in a manner that reflects an understanding of the overall context, problem, and key project hypotheses.

 

2.    Analytics Development and Execution: Develop, update, and refine analytics/excel models to identify issues and opportunities on topics such as: market evaluation and sizing, optimization of capital allocation, and tracking of internal R&D programs. Participate in hypothesis generation for relevant pieces of work. Capable of independently developing the analytic plan for a stream of work that addresses the topic, is appropriately timed, has robust methodology, and accounts for challenges of the assigned work.

 

3.    Presentation Development: Translate analytic output and conclusions into meaningful and compelling communications; Support the senior members of the team by contributing to the creation and refinement of major deliverables, often owning a work stream or component of the deliverable.

 

4.    Planning Cycle Support: Contribute directly to the annual Strategic Planning process (“Strat Plan” and AOP) as well as support preparation of related materials for presentation to the Boston Scientific Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

 

Required qualifications:


⦁    Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with proven high achievement
⦁    At least 1-3 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or relevant corporate role
⦁    Strong intellectual curiosity and demonstrated interest in healthcare (specific knowledge in Medical Devices a plus but not required)
⦁    Demonstrated unyielding attention to detail and analytical accuracy
⦁    Strong aptitude for critical thinking and interest in complex problem solving
⦁    Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint; Intermediate proficiency in Excel
⦁    Experience as a member of a small high-performing team with an entrepreneurial work ethic
⦁    Unimpeachable ethics and respect for confidentiality
