About the role:
Boston Scientific is looking for an Information Technology and Digital Enablement Counsel to join the legal department as a key contributor to advise its business on a growing portfolio of technological and digital solutions.  This role provides you with the opportunity to deliver legal advice and counsel to an innovative medical device leader on a broad portfolio of technology, software and digital solutions directed at patients, consumers, and health care providers.  Your day will include a variety of matters that will require you to assist, advise, investigate, research, and resolve legal matters to ensure that company personnel are aware of and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations applicable to technology, software and digital tools.  


Your responsibilities will include:
•Meeting regularly with business team members in various functions and directly provide legal advice to them on both acute questions and large strategies around the use of information technology, software and digital solutions;
•Partnering with business to create legally compliant digital platforms that provide optimal user experience;
•Providing straight-forward, practical, solution-oriented guidance, including risk-mitigation strategies and alternative pathways to move a project forward;
•Conducting compliance reviews of business requirements, products, features, and customer facing content for online, mobile and digital products and services;
•Collaborating with other in-house attorneys to provide guidance and solutions on marketing to health care providers, patients and consumers;
•Drafting and negotiating various types of technology licensing, development, and online services agreements;
•Drafting and implementing policies and procedures for compliance related to online, mobile and digital specific laws and regulations;
•Providing legal advice on electronic disclosure, contracting and signatures;
•Drafting clear and concise notices, disclosures, disclaimers, FAQs, end user license agreements, terms of use, service level agreements, policies and other public facing documents; 
•Reviewing and providing legal input for marketing materials, social media campaigns and physician training and education programs; and
•Advising on medical education platforms and programs.


Required Qualifications:
•J.D. from an accredited university with admission to practice law in at least one state. 
•Minimum of 6 years of related legal work experience, specifically including experience either in-house or in a law firm advising on complex information technology and digital commercial projects.
•Significant experience with complex agreements, including drafting, negotiating and advising on sophisticated technology-based agreements, end user license agreements, terms of use and the technology aspects of other commercial agreements.
•Must be comfortable working directly with high-energy, innovative business clients;
•Significant experience advising on software licensing and digital applications.


Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or health care industry. 
•Knowledge of laws, regulations industry standards affecting privacy and information technology/security, such as NIST, HIPAA, GDPR, SOC and ISO 27001/27002 preferred.  
•Strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
•Ability to work independently and drive results.
•Pro-active attitude and approach towards continuous improvement.
•Dedicated commitment to the highest standards of quality, integrity, ethics and professionalism.
