Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Engineer with experience with electromechanical systems. 


We are looking for an experienced Engineer to join our Systems and DICE (Direct Imaging Center of Excellence) division at Boston Scientific, R&D Endoscopy division. This person will be supporting the design and development of a highly integrated platform from conception to commercialization and also will be supporting a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electronics and software engineers. We are specifically looking for a systems thinker.

System’s thinking can be defined as a high-level view of the product under development and its interactions with other sub-systems within its use environment. Finally, able to realize the impact that one sub-system can have on the overall system.



  • Fully participates in and successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: system architecture design and development, testing, preparation of system and sub-system requirements, test method development and validation, development and release of test equipment, report preparation.

  • Develops system & Subsystem level requirements

  • Works independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.

  • Designs and coordinates system and electromechanical engineering tests and experiments.

  • Performs troubleshooting on systems as related to design, interactions with other electromechanical systems, materials, or process.

  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.

  • Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community.

  • Responsible for engineering documentation.

  • May train and/or provide work direction to technicians.

  • Works cooperatively with outside capital vendors, quality, regulatory, clinical, and marketing to ensure project success.


What we’re looking for:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Biomedical/Mechanical/Electrical or Systems Engineering

  • 4+ years of engineering experience with medical devices

  • Experience with troubleshooting with medical electrical systems

  • Self-Starter with the ability to work independently to plan, schedule and execute activities necessary to meet project timelines.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)

  • Hands-on approach to problem solving

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Device industry experience in design controls with a focus on user needs, intended use, system requirements, system design and traceability.

  • Medical Device systems product development experience

  • Familiar with systems verification/validation

  • Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.

  • Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
