About the role:  
As the transfer pricing leader for the company the Senior Manager will establish, in conjunction with senior tax leadership, a global transfer pricing strategy and will lead the implementation of solutions that align with our business strategies, ensure compliance with local requirements and minimize risk. Monitor and analyze proposed and enacted tax legislation (including new rulings, regulations, etc.) as well as other internal and external changes impacting transfer prices and modifies procedures accordingly.  Seeks out and collaborates with partners across businesses, regions and functions to understand changes to our business portfolio, manufacturing network and local market strategies. Responsible to provide key information and support on transfer pricing matters related to the Company’s financial reporting and tax examinations. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in critical delays or modifications to projects resulting in substantial expenditure of additional time, human resources, and funds.  Shares knowledge and collaborates across the tax organization in support of our common goals. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Monitors and analyzes proposed and enacted tax legislation (including new rulings, regulations, etc.) as well as other internal and external changes impacting transfer prices and modifies procedures accordingly. Manages business and compliance risks related to the OECD’s BEPS future action items and other technical developments impacting transfer prices.  
  • Serves as a valued business advisor by providing guidance on transfer pricing matters in response to business portfolio changes and influences decisions related to integration plans to ensure sustainable transfer pricing outcomes.
  • Advises and supports commercial management on issues affecting transfer prices (restructuring, new product sourcing etc.) to ensure transfer pricing issues are considered as business operations or structures change.  
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to improve the tax efficiency of existing business arrangements, processes and reduce risks wherever possible through the utilization of APAs etc. Communicates material impacts of new reporting requirements to the broader tax leadership team. 
  • Oversees operational transfer pricing activities through subordinate management including all recurring transfer pricing analyses (compensating adjustments, TPV analysis, cost-sharing analyses, etc.) and global compliance activities (reporting and documentation requirements). 
  • Provides direction and guidance to subordinate staff on the TP team. Functions as an advisor to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems. Investigates and solves problems that impact work processes and personnel within or across units or departments.
  • Serves as consulting resource on state transfer pricing matters as required. 
  • Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.  Reviews completed work for adequacy of results ensuring that they are either aligned with expectations or that deviations are rationally explained. Evaluates performance of and assists in career development planning for subordinates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting or Economics; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 7+ years of related work experience within a U.S. based multinational corporate tax department or public accounting environment with significant transfer pricing experience 
  • Broad working knowledge of U.S. federal, state and international tax matters as well as US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proven ability to operate in a dynamic, deadline driven environment 
  • Enthusiasm for building relationships cross functionally and collaborating as a member of a high performing team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and project management skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and preference for exposure to at least one major commercial ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
