About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking an experienced Manager to fill a highly visible and strategic leadership role within the IT Master Data Management organization. This role will provide both people and program leadership in the Master Data space and will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and global business users to deliver master data domains through innovative, data and analytics solutions. This individual will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of an advanced master data strategy for the organization. 

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals by providing them management and strategic direction
  • Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports by fostering a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential
  • Direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, projects or programs 
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
  • Provide project and product management for the existing domains and new investments that will generate business value by promoting principles and standards of the enterprise master data architecture.
  • Manage and support existing master data products and drive optimization of support processes.
  • Technical leadership and oversight of global master domain solutions for cross-functional platforms such as SAP, Salesforce and homegrown contributing to creation and execution of roadmaps
  • Analyzes the needs of master domains for functional departments, divisions and regions and establishes detailed level objectives, goals, and priorities for implementing IT solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional, governance and technical teams to provide strategic direction to global groups and serve as an advocate to promote the benefits of master data and capabilities.
  • Identifies innovative uses of Technology to provide a competitive advantage in cloud master data space for Boston Scientific.
  • Oversight of end-to-end architecture and data integrations including enhancements and operational support. 
  • Provides oversight and input to requirements/user story analysis, effort estimation, and project planning.
  • Promotes simplified integrations and core master data solutions with a business process first approach.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects and Product teams to the overall master data strategy and decision flow.
  • Support the development of integration systems according to the IT methodology, SOP’s, and team guidelines.
  • Maintains validated systems within the master data scope in accordance with internal software validation procedures and compliance to external controls such as SOX 404, GDPR, etc. 

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, related technical degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing people
  • 5+ years of technical experience with Master data platforms and integrations
  • Proven experience with Informatica MDM, IDQ, EDC, AXON with master data domain implementations in cloud and on-premise in Waterfall, Agile and Dev/Ops methodologies as strategic initiatives
  • Experience managing program financials, operational budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and negotiations. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to clearly communicate with management, business leaders and senior leadership in both written and oral communication.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical solutions to business partners at their level of technical understanding.
  • Able to work on a team in person and in a collaborative virtual setting; self-motivated, self-directed, adaptable.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Proven experience working in a regulated environment with quality systems with strong documentation skills.
