About the role: 

Boston Scientific is seeking an accomplished leader who will be responsible for leading multiple Product Teams, helping establish and deliver on a digital strategy, and driving the execution of highly visible initiatives across the commercial landscape.  This is a critical and strategic role and will be a key member of the IT organization that supports the Endoscopy and Urology Pelvic Health business units.  The individual will report to the Global Director and have responsibility for managing and executing on all aspects of the IT portfolio including delivery, business partnering, vendor management, and program governance.  The successful candidate will be someone who has a proven track record of leadership success, can manage complex programs, and is highly collaborative.


Your responsibilities:

  • Leads multiple Product Teams in the successful planning and delivery of new capabilities (via agile, iterative releases) that meet top business needs while providing ongoing support and continuous development. 
  • Demonstrates people leadership and develops talent; Engages in coaching and mentorship while managing multiple employees.
  • Builds strong partnerships with the divisional stakeholders in order to help define the digital strategy, ensure roadmap alignment, and understanding of business value. 
  • Manages execution of the portfolio priorities: Scope, Budget, Schedule, Risks / Issues, Resources.
  • Incorporates Agile, Lean, and User Centered Design methodologies to execute on product development, implementation, and operations.
  • Oversees program governance and demonstrates executive presence: Steering Committees, executive leadership updates (agenda and meeting prep).
  • Develops recommendations: Develops and delivers project recommendations to management and all stakeholders; Presents changes in IT strategy/programs including technology selection and development, total cost of ownership, and ability to drive business outcomes; Develops implementation strategy.
  • Manages software vendor assessments and contracting processes in close collaboration with Global Sourcing, Finance, Legal, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Owns a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, works with supervisor to obtain approval for changes, and coordinates the selection process with Human Resources.


What we’re looking for in you:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Engineering
  • 10+ years of work experience, including 7+ years devoted to IT leadership with a proven track record of successful project delivery in a variety of technical areas
  • Strong knowledge of Agile development practices and the ability to implement methodology changes where appropriate


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skilled in building and leading highly collaborative, flexible, and cohesive teams
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating in a highly matrixed environment (Operations, Sales, Marketing, Quality and IT) to implement technology solutions that support our strategic business objectives
  • Proven adaptability, comfortable with change and with a demonstrated ability to react and respond to a fast-changing environment
  • Proven experience conceiving and delivering innovative solutions that leverage technology and information in a health care domain is a plus.
  • Executive presence; comfortable presenting and collaborating with Senior Leaders as a Business Advisor
  • Experience working in a global organization supporting diverse businesses and geographies
  • Experience and a comprehensive knowledge of information systems, financials, contract management, and business processes
  • Ability to successfully manage and execute multiple, large-scale projects using established project management tools and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills in including demonstrated ability to condense data in order to synthesize crisp and easily understandable deliverables
