Master Data Management Specialist

 

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Master Data Manager, the core objective of this role will be to actively support the processes and projects designed by the Master Data Manager to ensure the accuracy and consistency of master data. The role entails a strong involvement in analyzing and improving architectures and reporting tools, gathering the voice-of-customer from the business and executing the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Your Responsibilities include:

  • Working within the Data Governance framework to ensure accurate and consistent data maintenance across US.
  • Investigate reasons for potential data issues and related alternative solutions
  • Analyze, synthesize, and communicate data and issues into business language, meaningful and insightful messaging and plans
  • Disseminate best practices and standardization in Master Data Management across the US region. Work closely with cross functional teams to establish processes, procedures and defined roles and responsibilities for master data management.
  • Support the Manager of Master Data Management in establishing partnerships with Divisions, Sales and Marketing, Finance, Customer Services, IS and other teams as necessary, transforming business issues into solutions and plans to resolve
  • Collaborate with IS team on prioritized technical solutions and improvements understanding implementation plans to resolve and improve
  • Liaise with IS and US business teams to drive accuracy and master data sources back to SAP wherever possible.
  • Using metrics and analysis to hold Data Stewards accountable for their Divisions Data Quality
  • Develop reports supporting functions and the business
  • Review Data Quality rules as part of Data Governance and gather voice-of-customer to ensure the most appropriate and current business rules are observed and monitored
  • Participate in meetings with, influence and guide Data Steward SME’s on best practice and CI methodologies
  • Gather voice-of-customer raised by the business in terms of user experience issues, as well as related expectations after issue resolution
  • Periodically review adherence to plan and business expectations
  • Regularly review and update Process and Procedural documentation
  • Design guidelines and training material for new reports / functionality / metrics
  • Deliver training when required (train-the-trainer approach)
  • Manage processes, plans and projects assigned by senior management
  • Provide updates and develops recommendation to senior management and all stakeholders through frequent communications of findings at regular intervals via reports and meetings

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University Degree
  • Beginner to intermediate SQL skills
  • Experience with analyzing and resolving discrepant data across integrated systems
  • Analytical, detail oriented and accurate
  • Precise, methodical and respectful of procedures
  • Ability to research and work on data
  • Problem solving & insight generation skills
  • Strong communication skills with employees at all levels including ability to translate distinct terminology differences between and for technical teams and business teams
  • Strong relationship building skills and interfacing with stakeholders 
  • Ability to work in multiple virtual team’s
  • Ability to execute repetitive activities if required
  • 3-5+ years’ relevant experience

 

Desirable but not essential knowledge of:

  • Informatica Data Director and Data Quality
  • Sales Cloud / Sales Force .com
  • Tableau
  • Working knowledge of SAP
