Payroll Tax Manager, Americas
 

About the Role:
 

The U.S. Payroll Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll tax compliance and accuracy for Boston Scientific and leads and develops a team of payroll tax analysts. 

This role requires an experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of US payroll tax regulations and the ability to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and payment.  The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, demonstrate strong independent problem-solving skills and can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize payroll processes and tax compliance.

 

Your Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Manage and oversee payroll tax compliance for federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll taxes, including withholding, reporting, and payment.
  • Monitor changes in payroll tax regulations and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
  • Review and reconcile payroll tax reports and filings to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with external legacy tax filing vendors, auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Develop and maintain effective payroll tax processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the HR and Finance teams to address payroll tax-related issues and inquiries.
  • Provide guidance and support to payroll staff on tax-related matters.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax returns and payments in accordance with regulatory deadlines.
  • Analyze payroll tax data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure proper documentation of payroll tax activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in the implementation of new payroll systems and software as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in payroll tax management.

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in payroll tax management or related roles.
  • 3 years of people leadership experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of US payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and tax reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.


Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as SAP/ECP, ADP, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of international payroll tax regulations is a plus.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
