About the role:

The Global Clinical Communications Principal drives development and use of communication solutions as a means for connecting the global clinical community within Boston Scientific as well as elevating internal and external awareness around programs, product portfolios and our Global Clinical vision. This role will be responsible for the development of dynamic strategies, content and the delivery of key clinical messages using varied communication platforms across stakeholder groups.  


Your responsibilities will include:

  • The Clinical Global Communications Principal partners with Clinical Strategy to translate scientific content from medical, scientific, and other industry-related sources to generate a library of content and presentation materials for use by the Global Chief Medical Officer and his staff. 
  • Partners to develop the strategy for delivering internal Global Clinical messaging, announcements, and content to be delivered across stakeholder groups and through various communications channels to maximize reach and impact. 
  • Enable vision and messaging adoption through the use of techniques and tools that address resistance to change and/for facilitate the building of value drivers to support business goals/changes and bring stakeholders along on the change journey.
  • Sets the strategy on how best to elevate program and project communications in partnership with Project Communications lead in order to reach Global Clinical and leadership-level audiences.  
  • Liaison with corporate communications to ensure the successful facilitation of internal as well as external BSC leadership level corporate communications and campaign efforts that could include media interviews, article development, internal videos. 
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Clinical Trial Managers as well as other internal stakeholders to ensure data from BSC clinical trials and registries is appropriately represented and presented across CMO platforms. Partner with stakeholders to incorporate current and appropriate external medical data into CMO content.
  • Partner with Communications Manager and CMO Executive Administrator to manage the CMO calendar of events, videos and any other communications related tasks in order to determine participation requirements and schedule the necessary preparation activities and ultimately deliver an accurate, high-quality document that is prepared on schedule.
  • Responsible for leading and organizing preparation activities and meetings needed for the development of content including intake calls with stakeholders, review meetings with content owners and subject matter experts for guidance and input into the final content output.
  • Consults with internal project groups by sharing communications knowledge and assisting or mentoring team members in communications processes and techniques.
  • Build strong working relationships with partners and stakeholders to promote an integrated communications approach across clinical programs.
  • Provides informal coaching and mentors other more junior communications team members.
  • Assists with any and all other global Clinical communications content development needs as requested.


What we're looking for in you:
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Communications preferred 
  • 5+ years of experience in an internal and/or external communications or related role 
  • Previous experience in managing communications projects and/or programs

  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written as well as a demonstrated attention to detail and detail oriented. 
  • Highly organized and able perform well under pressure and managing multiple priorities. 
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Expertise building communications plans and introducing techniques to manage resistance to change
  • Proven ability to develop communication strategies and communicate recommendations at various levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working at multiple levels of the organization, including with senior leadership and/or executive leadership
  • Up to date with latest trends and marketing best practices
  • Fully engaged and self-starting. 
  • Possess a high energy level and strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment that strives to exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability/experience in an environment of change and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to compliance, ethics and accountability.
