About the role:
Magellan is a global business transformation program accompanying a move of our ERP system from SAP ECC to S4 HANA. Magellan’s goal is to simplify, standardize and modernize our core business processes, enabling BSC to better leverage the power of data and to position our business for profitable and sustainable growth.
As the Principal Business Analyst, Magellan Finance Business Transformation, you will play a critical role in driving the successful transformation of Finance operations across the BSC organization. Reporting to the Product Owner of the Magellan Finance team, you will represent Business Users and serve as a key liaison between functional teams, Magellan Workstreams, Strategic Integration Vendors, Communities of Practice (CoP), and stakeholders across the global network. This program spans multiple phases—including Requirements Gathering, Design, Build and Testing, Deployment, and Post-Go-Live Support—where your expertise will be essential in aligning business needs with scalable, forward-looking solutions.
While recruitment efforts are primarily focused in the United States (Marlborough, MA; Arden Hills, MN; Maple Grove, MN; Spencer, IN), we will also consider qualified candidates based in our international locations: Coyol and Heredia, Costa Rica; Clonmel and Galway, Ireland; and Penang, Malaysia.

Your responsibilities include:
- Represent Business Users in the Agile ERP team, translating user requirements into Business User Stories and 'Who, What, Why' acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with Magellan Workstreams, Strategic Integration Vendors, BSC BPLs, SMEs, Communities of Practice, IT Solution Architects/COE, and stakeholders to build deep expertise across Finance processes and applications.
- Liaise with Training teams and Site Super Users/BPLs/SMEs to develop training plans that enhance application knowledge across the Finance organization.
- Collaborate with the Magellan Finance Workstream and broader program teams to support deployment using a Scalable Agile Framework/DevOps methodology.
- Align requirements and monitor project plans while coordinating activities across Requirements, Design, Build, and Testing phases to support successful deployment.
- Influence global Finance and divisional leaders to adopt best practices, understand strategic goals, and drive business transformation by simplifying and standardizing Finance processes.
- Deliver services outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW) with a focus on business and technical outcomes.
- Design, build, and implement solutions using SAP S4 FI and CO modules.
- Partner with Product and Project Teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Support multiple Product Team initiatives simultaneously, engaging with cross-functional internal and external teams.
- Resolve technical issues by diagnosing problems, recommending workarounds, and implementing defect corrections.
- Analyze, design, construct, test, and deploy system or application enhancements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation in accordance with IS methodologies and standards.
- Understand business implications and incorporate insights into technical and process improvement recommendations.
- Lead and support the rollout of new business applications and functionality, especially within the SAP S4 FI and CO landscape.
- Follow project plans, Sprint, and Program Increment deliverables while identifying task dependencies and resource needs.
- Collaborate across Product Teams, work groups, and divisions to ensure cohesive execution.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Support and assist with FI and CO data conversion activities to ensure successful transitions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of technical, professional, or operational experience in a regulated industry.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working in or with complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to timely execution.
- Willingness and ability to travel to and participate in team meetings, collaborative project events, and on-site activities across the Finance network, with a primary focus on the Marlborough and Minnesota areas.
- Proven ability to maintain a high degree of integrity and professionalism in a collaborative setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Finance or Accounting).
- 7+ years of experience in financial planning, accounting, audit, tax, operations finance, or global business services.
- Working knowledge of SAP, Hyperion, and other financial applications.
- Understanding of key finance-related business processes.
- Experience shaping and communicating strategic program goals, particularly within enterprise-level initiatives such as ERP implementations.
- Demonstrated leadership in fostering an inclusive team environment, recognizing and rewarding performance, and empowering team members across geographically distributed locations.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
