About the role:

Boston Scientific is seeking a Principal Business Architect, IT Finance to support the execution of business architecture projects within the global finance function.

 

This multi-faceted role supports Boston Scientific’s Global Finance technology portfolio and is accountable for delivering strategic direction, thought leadership, and business architecture consulting across IT and Finance functions. You will define and model business capabilities and processes while contributing to enterprise-wide strategic planning.

 

In this position, you will partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, define high-level needs, and support the development of business cases. You will ensure that business capabilities and processes are optimized and aligned with Boston Scientific’s strategic goals.

 

This role reports to the Director of IT Acquisitions & Integrations and Finance.

 

Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead strategic discussions with business and IT stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business objectives
  • Act as a strategic advisor to cross-functional teams, guiding business transformation efforts through capability and value stream development
  • Analyze current and future state capabilities to inform data-driven recommendations for leadership
  • Define and assess capability maturity levels and prioritize improvements that align with strategic goals
  • Develop and maintain capability roadmaps that outline both near-term actions and long-term investment plans
  • Identify, document, and analyze business architecture to ensure alignment with enterprise needs and priorities
  • Own and communicate the department’s business architecture vision to key stakeholders
  • Develop and facilitate training programs to promote business architecture practices and modeling standards
  • Provide thought leadership in identifying innovative approaches to business transformation
  • Champion the development of business cases that support the execution of strategic initiatives
  • Drive strategic planning by translating business needs into technology solutions and roadmaps
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and committees to execute business architecture initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and methodologies within the business architecture function
  • Apply deep knowledge of company operations to generate new processes and strategies that enable transformation
  • Guide the organization through complex change initiatives with autonomy and influence
  • Support enterprise-wide transformation efforts by aligning business architecture with strategic objectives

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business architecture
  • Proven ability to develop and implement realistic roadmaps toward future-state capabilities
  • Experience applying architecture principles across multiple domains
  • Ability to communicate architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Skilled in tailoring communication and influencing techniques for different audiences
  • Experience identifying innovative technologies or solutions to solve complex business problems
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate alignment among diverse or opposing stakeholder viewpoints

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of experience in business architecture
  • Experience in the medical device or life sciences industry
  • Background in consulting, business strategy, or IT architecture
  • Proficiency in influencing stakeholders across organizational levels

Maximum Salary: $243000 

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
