About the role:
The Principal Financial Analyst of Corporate FP&A plays an important role in providing decision support to management by understanding and communicating the key drivers of gross margin and pricing impacts by division/region/product on a monthly/quarterly basis. This position interfaces with the Global Business Units and our Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain team to analyze trends within the business and marketplace. This position also serves as a key resource in the Strategic Plan process, partnering with functional, divisional, and regional counterparts. This role must be highly connected to other members of the FP&A team to ensure consistency and avoid duplication of work. This is a highly visible position, with presentations to executive management and other corporate functions.
Your responsibilities include:
Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly gross margin and pricing reporting
- Review and communicate gross margin reporting and trends by division, region, and major product
- Understand and evaluate the impact of price and volume on gross margin performance
- Coordinate with the Global Manufacturing finance teams to understand production variances, ongoing trends, and FIFO accounting
- Prepare slides for executive team on results vs. forecast and prior periods
- Identify reporting capabilities to leverage within new ERP and financial planning systems
Assist and coordinate Strategic Plan processes
- Work with Global Finance teams to define, communicate and manage all requirements to develop financial statements; troubleshoot as needed and partner with business units and regions during the process
- Partner with the IT/FPS support team throughout the various work streams
- Support manufacturing finance teams’ analysis of standards improvement, including impact of revenue submissions, currency changes, and other business drivers
- Provide supporting analysis and total company roll-up to Senior Management understanding/tracking variances to internal expectations by BU/Region/P&L line item, along with external communicated targets and linkage to AOP.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Quickly and accurately respond to ad hoc queries from internal customers (including Sr./Executive Management)
- Assist in preparing schedules for CFO updates to Executive team and support preparations for quarterly earnings calls
- Support inclusive culture of finance
- Engage in continuous improvement activities to streamline core FP&A processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness as well as supporting overall company optimization initiatives
What we're looking for:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- 7+ years of relevant financial analysis, planning, and business support experience in medium to large company
- Advanced knowledge of tools and systems (HFM, Hyperion Planning, Excel, etc.)
