About the role:
The Principal Financial Analyst of Corporate FP&A plays a crucial role in providing decision support to management by understanding and communicating the key drivers of financial performance by division, region, and product. This position interfaces with the Global Business Units to analyze trends within the business and marketplace and communicate them on a monthly/quarterly basis. It also serves as a key resource in the annual operating plan (AOP) process and quarterly forecast cycles, partnering with functional, divisional, and regional counterparts. Additionally, this position supports reporting and analysis of the company’s consolidated financials to the CEO and CFO in preparation for quarterly earnings calls and Board of Director meetings.

 

Your responsibilities will include

  • Lead Global Annual Operating Plan processes, partnering with global finance teams on continuous process improvements while leveraging new financial system capabilities.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and analyze monthly financial reporting by division, region, and function, working across the team to understand the various drivers.
  • Analyze key areas of focus for the Senior Management team such as global headcount reporting, T&E spend, digital initiatives, etc.
  • Consolidate total company, divisional, and regional P&L’s analyzing trends and understanding/tracking variances to plan and forecast by P&L line item.
  • Coordinate the quarterly forecasting cycles working with Global Finance teams to define, communicate, and manage all requirements to develop financial statements; troubleshoot as needed and partner with divisions/regions/functions during the process.
  • Maintain and enhance P&L modelling for quarterly/annual estimates, using inputs from businesses and external factors, comparing trends against recent forecasts and external guidance.
  • Quickly and accurately respond to ad hoc queries from internal customers (including Sr./Executive Management).
  • Assist in preparing schedules for CFO updates to the Executive team.
  • Support Global Headcount reporting processes, partnering closely with HR and Finance in monitoring headcount investments and growth.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities to streamline core FP&A processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness as well as support overall company optimization initiatives.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant financial analysis, planning, and business support experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  •  Ability to work well in a complex, highly matrixed worldwide organization and simplify that matrix for reporting and analytical purposes

  • Strong organizational, management, project, and process skills.
  • Be proactive, a self-starter, results-oriented, and a team player. Wants to be challenged.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and multi-task
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. Very strong analytical skills.
  • Track record of successful business partnering. Advanced knowledge of tools and systems (Hyperion Planning/Smartview, Excel, etc.)

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
