About the role:
The Principal Market Research Manager will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in market research, acting as the key authority on research methodologies, data analysis, and actionable customer insights. This role provides strategic guidance, shaping research frameworks that drive essential business decisions for the Urology business. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of market research best practices, emerging trends, and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams. This position demands both thought leadership and hands-on involvement in executing research initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Design and Execution:
- Lead the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, ensuring rigorous data collection, thorough analysis, and actionable outcomes.
Thought Leadership:
- Serve as the organization’s leading expert on market research methodologies, trends, tools, and emerging technologies to shape and inform business strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with stakeholders, including marketing, R&D, sales, and executive teams, to understand their research needs and provide customized solutions that inform strategic decisions.
Data Interpretation and Communication:
- Translate complex research findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights for senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
Mentorship:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with external research vendors and agencies, ensuring high-quality research services are delivered.
Innovative Solutions:
- Drive the development of innovative research solutions that address evolving business challenges through cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
Business Impact:
- Evaluate the business impact of research initiatives to ensure insights contribute to tangible outcomes and enhanced business performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Market Research, Marketing, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8+ years in market research with demonstrated leadership in managing complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including survey design, statistical analysis, focus groups, ethnographic studies, and advanced data modeling.
- Proficiency in market research tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SPSS, SAS, R).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible way for non-technical audiences and senior leadership.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to synthesize large datasets and derive actionable insights.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and make decisions aligned with organizational objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry experience in MedTech and Urology.
- MBA or other advanced degree in relevant field.
- Familiarity with emerging research technologies, such as AI-driven analytics, social listening tools, and big data platforms.
