About the Role:
The Principal Master Data Steward is responsible for governing, managing, and ensuring the quality of enterprise master data using Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service (EDMCS). This role partners with business and IT stakeholders to maintain data integrity, enforce governance standards, and support financial and operational hierarchies across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Master Data Governance
- Define, implement, and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures
- Implement data policies, standards, and procedures defined by the data governance council
- Define and manage data ownership, stewardship roles, and data security requirements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
- Data Quality Management
- Monitor, identify, and correct data inaccuracies, duplicates, and inconsistencies to ensure high-quality data
- Establish and track data quality metrics and remediation plans
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and impact analysis
- Oracle EDMCS Administration
- Support requests, approvals, and workflows within EDMCS
- Support integrations with ERP, EPM, and downstream systems
- Metadata & Documentation
- Maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation to define and standardize data usage
- Ensure documentation is current, accessible, and aligned with governance standards
- Issue Resolution & Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the liaison between business and IT to triage, investigate, and remediate data quality issues
- Lead root cause analysis and coordinate resolution across systems and teams
- Communicate data issues, impacts, and resolutions to stakeholders
- Change Management
- Lead and coordinate master data change requests from initiation through approval and deployment
- Assess downstream impacts of hierarchy or structural changes
- Maintain audit trails and documentation for all changes
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, IT, and business units to align data structures with business needs
- Provide guidance and training to data stewards and end users
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline data governance and stewardship processes
- Implement automation and best practices within EDMCS
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, and testing
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, or business analysis
- Hands-on experience with Oracle EDMCS (Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service)
- Strong understanding of financial data structures (e.g., chart of accounts, hierarchies)
- Experience with ERP/EPM systems (Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, SAP, etc.)
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
- Familiarity with data management and governance tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra)
- Working knowledge of SQL and data querying technique
