Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Indirect Sourcing Professional Services


About the Role:


The Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiations, and management of major contracts for the company and to provide project management/support for key Value Improvement initiatives.  In addition, this position is responsible for leveraging relationships between BSC sites, divisions, and strategic supplier base to improve organizational efficiency and optimize business and financial opportunities.


Your Responsibilities Include:


  • Responsible for the creation and execution of the category plan for Professional Services/Consulting/ R&D Services
  • Assist in the development, implementation and refining of Professional Services/Consulting/ R&D sourcing strategies that result in enhanced value, revenue, breakthrough total-cost reduction and continuous improvement for spend
  • Support in the creation and implementation of an annual Professional Services/Consulting/R&D cost savings program that will directly affect company’s financial results and growth plans
  • Responsible for achieving savings targets to support Fund the Journey objective
  • Apply deep supply market intelligence, vendor performance scorecards and cost benchmarking to manage price fluctuations and continually improve results and control of spend
  • Develop Professional Services/Consulting/R&D sourcing strategies (including RFI/RFP, negotiations, etc.) to drive sustainable competitive advantage and concentrate spend with key suppliers in support of business unit and corporate strategies
  • Identify key procurement risks and opportunities within Professional Services/Consulting/R&D and develop mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with Business stakeholders to achieve savings targets, improve supplier performance, minimize supply chain risk, maximize supplier collaboration and innovation, etc.


What We’re Looking For:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field and equivalent experience is required. 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement-related activities as well as business process design and organizational change.
  • Category specific knowledge and demonstrated ability to drive cost savings and process efficiencies in some or all the following areas: Management Advisory Services, Financial Services, Learning and Development.
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with strategic sourcing concepts and leading practices, including:
  • Market analysis and Benchmarking
  • Contractual negotiation and contract management process and insight
  • Supplier performance management
  • Supplier risk analysis
  • Ariba and SAP Management tools
