About the role:
Pure imagination! The Global Compliance Communications and Training Team is reinventing what it means to communicate and train stakeholders around the world. We’re dedicated to finding new ways to spread the message of integrity and regulations applicable to the medical device industry (e.g. the anti-kickback statute, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, etc.) in the context of real-life scenarios. Vlogs, podcasts, and commercials are just the beginning of new and exciting ways to connect users around the world. The Principal Training Specialist will be responsible for designing and executing the overall training strategy and finding new ways to provide training beyond annual content refresh modules.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Implement and enhance components of a comprehensive compliance training program for Global Compliance
- Foster relationships and partner with team members worldwide to create a strategic training plan that can be customized based on local processes
- Find new and innovative ways to train team members on core compliance topics
- Build a training framework utilizing AI and new tools to engage our training population
- Participate in and lead the training element of a global international community of practice, provide training insights and opportunities, and align with worldwide training priorities and initiatives
- Develop a training plan for newly acquired employees, working with the Communications and Training manager
- Identify, learn, and support new training software and platforms
- Create, support, execute, and review innovative and engaging training and education solutions, resources, and/or tools in support of the Global Compliance training strategy and in response to identified curriculum needs and at management’s direction
- Scope, plan, execute, and manage projects that support the development or enhancement of Global Compliance training program that may cross multiple regions, business units, and/or functions with minimal supervision, ensuring performance goals and timelines are met
- Conduct, review, and analyze training assignment needs and maintaining records that properly reflect training assignment criteria; monitor training requirements for continued applicability
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of potential training topic areas by proactively tracking Global Compliance audits & monitoring reports, compliance-related news, and industry thought leadership/best practices
- Prepare an annual plan of training enhancements based on a department risk assessment
- Establish and maintain metrics and reporting to reflect the effectiveness of Global Compliance training programs
- Support the development of operating procedures for maintaining key processes in support of ongoing and routine training activities, including but not limited to establishing training curriculum and assignment profiles, integration of training into Boston Scientific’s learning system, etc.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Boston Scientific’s business areas, regions, and/or functions relevant to the compliance program or project initiative and the associated compliance risks
- Follow established policies and procedures to support BSC’s overall business goals
- Provide direction and coaching to junior employees by coaching, identifying training needs, identifying and suggesting progressively challenging assignments, and assisting in career development planning
Required qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in the compliance field or related training experience
- Bachelor's degree with a focus on adult learning or instructional design
- Impeccable writing proficiency
- Expert with eLearning tools and systems, including authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and learning management systems (LMS)
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to scope, plan, and oversee the execution of cross-functional projects and the ability to organize, execute, and manage multiple priorities
- Exemplary analytical, critical thinking, and visual graphic skills as well as demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience presenting to senior management level
- Confidence to handle pressures and deadlines and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work with large amounts of data to analyze information while still seeing the “big picture”
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA, Project Management certifications
- Possess a high energy level and strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment that strives to exceed expectations
- Results-oriented with a willingness to get the job done and manage time effectively
