About the role:
Responsible for providing electrical and electronic engineering support and expertise in the definition, design, development, test and sustaining of products. Independently or as a member of a team directs, develops, concepts, and executes specifications, designs, plans and builds of products or complex manufacturing and test equipment.
Your Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
- Documents electrical development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.
- Tracks electrical development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool.
- Solves engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
- Analyzes, evaluates, verifies, requirements, circuits, and systems by using engineering practices.
- Investigates, researches, selects electronic circuits, components, tools, equipment and practices.
Other General Responsibilities:
- Fully participates in and successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: product design, development and design changes, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process capability studies, research investigations, report preparation, and process/test documentation.
- Works with supervisor to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.
- Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments.
- Designs, procures, and fabricates tooling and fixtures.
- Performs troubleshooting on new/commercial products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.
- Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
- Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community.
- Responsible for engineering documentation.
- Invents/ creates concepts and designs for new products/processes and submits idea disclosures.
- May train and/or provide work direction to technicians.
- Works cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing to ensure project success.
- Demonstrates PDP/TPD system knowledge through completion of high quality deliverables.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electronics
- 2-3 years of relevant Electrical and Electronic R&D work experience
- Excellent hands-on electronics prototyping, debug, verification, and failure analysis skills
- Experience working within Design Controls or equivalent for Medical Device Industry is a distinct advantage
