At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three-four days per week.

 

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

This person will support new product development in Endoscopy R&D. This engineering role develops products, materials, processes, or equipment.  Under direct supervision/guidance, compiles, analyzes, and reports operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products, processes, and materials. 

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Fully participates in and successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: product design and development, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process capability studies, research investigations (animal and clinical studies), report preparation, and process/test documentation. 

  • Works independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines. 

  • Designs and coordinates rudimentary engineering tests and experiments. 

  • Designs, procures, and fabricates simple tooling and fixtures. 

  • Performs troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process. 

  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results. 

  • Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to the technical community. 

  • Responsible for engineering documentation. 

  • Invents/creates concepts and designs for new products/processes and submits idea disclosures. 

  • May train and/or provide work direction to technicians. 

 

Required qualifications:

  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.  
  • Must have prior internship/ Co-op experience at Boston Scientific.
  • Must have experience working within medical device R&D departments, with hands-on prototyping and testing. 

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience working within medical device R&D departments, with hands-on prototyping and testing. 

  • Familiarity with industry-related standards (e.g. ISO, ASTM, ASME, IEC, etc.) and their direct application. 

  • Excellent technical capabilities with a strong history of solving problems. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to collaborate with team members.

Minimum Salary: $61,000.00 

Maximum Salary: $88,400.00

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
