The Position:

The Senior Analyst, Tax Resolutions is an experienced professional with a wide range of experience and expertise in federal and state tax laws.  The knowledge will be deployed to support federal and state income tax examinations and agency notices.  Builds relationships across the organization to facilitate examination preparedness.  Determine alternative outcomes and make recommendations to management.

 

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with various departments in the company to plan for examinations and gather information for examinations.   Initiate and prepare prompt and accurate responses to IRS and state IDRs
  • Research and develop technical tax issues for federal and state examination responses
  • Analyze alternative outcomes to potential examination issues and make recommendations to management
  • Prepare federal income tax modeling scenarios using the corporate tax software for planning decisions and audit resolution.  Analyze the effects of changes on tax attributes.  Prepare cash flow forecasts based on examination timing
  • Prepare amended income tax returns and carryback claims
  • Develop and maintain relationships with others in the company to facilitate information gathering and understanding of the business
  • Support other tax groups on forecasting, planning, compliance and tax accounting
  • Contribute to department initiatives and suggest and/or implement process improvements

 

What we’re looking for:

Minimal requirements:

  • BA/BS in accounting with 4+ years of federal and state tax experience either in public accounting or a corporate tax department
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax rules and federal income tax return experience
  • Understanding of ASC 740
  • Self-motivated, independent worker, strong accounting and analytical skills, interpersonal communication skills, and strong organization skills
  • Computer skills (SAP, Excel, Hyperion) and tax research skills
