About the role:
Are you a self-motivated finance professional seeking to apply your technical accounting, project management, and leadership experience to drive results across a global organization? If so, consider joining the Corporate Technical Accounting team at Boston Scientific.
We are a dynamic, high-performing group responsible for overseeing complex and judgment-based accounting matters, implementing and maintaining global accounting policies, and ensuring compliance with external reporting requirements.
In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across the global organization to evaluate business drivers and risks, assess accounting implications, and ensure accurate financial reporting within a well-controlled environment. This position reports to the Associate Director, Corporate Technical Accounting.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:

Apply technical accounting research to key areas such as goodwill, intangibles, and contingent consideration

Perform annual goodwill impairment assessments and quarterly intangible impairment analyses

Assist in accounting research and preparation of technical memos related to investments and joint ventures

Complete accounting close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations

Maintain effective internal controls related to financial close processes

Partner with the SEC Reporting team to prepare high-quality footnotes and disclosures for quarterly and annual filings

Collaborate with the Corporate SOX team to support compliance and internal control frameworks

Coordinate with external auditors, providing documentation and responses during reviews and audits

Deliver accurate annual plans and periodic forecasts for assigned areas to FP&A

Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Foster and support an inclusive culture within Boston Scientific
Required qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field

Minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to apply technical accounting guidance

Proven ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams
-
High attention to detail and accuracy in data management
Preferred qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
-
CPA certification
-
Experience in a public accounting firm

Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management

Combination of public and private accounting experience

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
