About the role:
The Senior Credit and Collections Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of collections for a portfolio of our health system customers, aiming to maximize cash flow while minimizing bad debt. Creating meaningful partnerships with our key customers is essential to supporting their customers with cash inquiries and requests. The analyst must define the root cause for non-payment, overcome internal and external obstacles/barriers that may be compromising collections and escalate as appropriate. Collaboration is vital in this position as the analyst must develop relationships with internal cross-functional teams to provide services and solutions that create value for our customers.
This is a 12-month defined-term position with potential for extension.
Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our Marlborough, MA office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop collection strategies for an assigned health system account portfolio that exceeds $40 million of outstanding accounts receivable with numerous accounts and line items.
- Monitor collections and independently carry out assignments without direction. Utilize the Get Paid collection tool to input collection notes from client contacts and document disputed items and take the initiative to solve problems.
- Ensure all outstanding items within the assigned portfolio have been addressed, overcome objections using skillful persuasion, and handle situations tactfully by accomplishing collection goals without creating friction.
- Support the Customer to Cash Management team by developing deep-dive analysis regarding credit and collection matters and keep management informed of potential risks.
- Collaborating with internal teams in customer service, contracts, sales, and divisional leads to escalating issues and advising on the account group’s payment status.
- Monitor a daily queue of orders being held for credit review before release for shipment and participate in evening release coverage as required.
- Adhere to all financial policies/controls and promote high corporate responsibility.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 7 years’ related experience in Collections.
- Intermediate practical experience in MS Excel.
- Experience working with complex organizations with numerous transactions.
- Possess strong financial acumen, analysis, and critical thinking in decision making and recognize the financial impact of those decisions.

- Demonstrate a high standard of integrity with internal and external customers.
Preferred qualifications:
- Collections experience in the healthcare industry with knowledge of hospital systems.
- SAP experience.
- Preferably experience with Government accounts and various customer portals for invoice entries.
- Government ECAT and WAWF have experience in processing invoices for the VA and DOD.
- The candidate must consistently strive to negotiate successful outcomes with strong written and verbal communication skills.
