Senior Data Engineer

 

About the role:

The Enterprise Marketing Analytics team needs a Senior Data Engineer to lead the migration from BigQuery to Snowflake. In our journey toward digital transformation, it is vital that we have a robust data infrastructure, one that incorporates best practices in the software engineering field. In addition, this individual will build pipelines to ingest data from various Marketing sources into Snowflake, use DBT to transform data, and Airflow to orchestrate pipelines. Your deep understanding of Cloud, Data Modeling, Systems Integration & ETL will help us succeed:

 

Your responsibilities include:
•Lead data sourcing, integration, automation, and framework design for the core marketing ecosystem.
•Prepare data models and develop data schemas to meet technical configurations and business needs
•Administer existing pipelines and develop new ETL, ELT & Reverse ETL pipelines as need. 
•Analyze and recommend changes to increase productivity level of data warehouse. 
•Design, code, test, debug, and document data services based on technical requirements developed by analysts and project teams.
•Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes 
•Identify gaps between current and desired end-states and deliver a comprehensive solution.
•Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams in I.T, Marketing, and external vendors to ensure a solid marketing data ecosystem that helps meet our advanced marketing goals.
•Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
•Administer all Service Level Agreements and provide efficient solutions.

•Grow technical expertise of engineers in the team and advocate for sound software development practices.
•Grow people and the team through coaching, mentoring, feedback, process, and continuous improvements effort.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, engineering, or related fields. 
•5+ years of professional experience, including at least three years in data or software engineering

•Knowledge or experience with design of data integration using API, ETL or other data integration pattern
•Experience in building and shipping complex scalable software to production

•Deep knowledge of SQL & major data warehouses like BigQuery or Snowflake 
•Hands-on experience with Airflow. Ability to orchestrate DBT models and apply Python transformations as needed.
•Experience with Agile engineering practices and end-to-end automation of data delivery.
•Ability to translate business and technical requirements into data engineering designs and solutions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
•Cloud Professional Data Engineer & Cloud Architect Certification is a plus.
•Deep knowledge of Python. Knowledge of JavaScript &/or Jinja is a plus. 
•Prior experience with building data models on DBT (Data Build Tool) is a plus

•Working with test-driven development and software test automation is a plus
