About the role:

Boston Scientific’s Corporate FP&A organization is looking for a self-motivated, detail oriented Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for providing global operating expense reporting and analysis to the executive management team. 

 

This individual plays an important role in providing decision support to management by understanding and communicating the key drivers of SG&A and R&D expenses by division/region/function. This position interfaces with the Global Business Units to analyze trends within the business and marketplace and communicate them on a monthly/quarterly basis.

 

This position will also help evaluate our current FP&A processes and how we incorporate artificial intelligence and new SaaS solutions to evolve our global finance procedures.  Additionally, this position supports reporting and analysis of the company’s consolidated financials to the CEO and CFO in preparation for quarterly earnings calls and Board of Director meetings.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly SG&A and R&D reporting by division, region, and function
  • Analyze key areas of focus for Senior Management team such as global headcount reporting, T&E spend, etc.
  • Coordinate the quarterly forecasting cycles working with Global Finance teams to define, communicate and manage all requirements to develop financial statements; troubleshoot as needed and partner with divisions/regions/functions during the process
  • In partnership with global finance stakeholders, engage in continuous improvement activities to streamline core FP&A processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness while incorporating new capabilities with AI and SaaS solutions
  • Quickly and accurately respond to ad hoc queries from internal customers (including Sr./Executive Management)
  • Assist in preparing schedules for CFO updates to Executive team
  • Support inclusive culture of finance

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of financial analysis, planning, and business support experience in medium to large company
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a complex, highly matrixed worldwide organization and be able to simplify that matrix for reporting and analytical purposes

  • Be proactive, a self-starter, results-oriented, and a team player.  Wants to be challenged.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.  Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Strong organizational, management, project and process skills.
  • Very strong financial analysis skills. Attention to detail a must.
  • Strong Hyperion/SmartView user. SAP a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
