About the role:

The Corporate FP&A organization of Boston Scientific has a position for a self motivated, detail oriented individual responsible for providing global gross margin and pricing reporting and analysis to the executive management team.  This is a highly visible position that reports into the Senior Finance Manager in Corporate FP&A.

 

This person plays an important role in providing decision support to management in understanding and communicating the key drivers of gross margin and pricing impacts by division/region/product.  This position interfaces with the Global Business Units to analyze trends within the business and marketplace and communicate them on a monthly/quarterly basis. This position also serves as a key resource in both the financial strategic planning process and annual operating plan (AOP) process, partnering with functional, divisional, and regional counterparts.  Additionally, this position supports reporting and analysis of the company’s consolidated financials to the CEO and CFO in preparation for divisional reviews and Board of Director meetings.   

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly gross margin reporting by division, region, and major product
  • Understand and evaluate the  impact of price and volume on sales performance
  • Collaborate across the finance organization (divisional and regional finance, Treasury, Tax, Accounting and others as necessary) to support analysis
  • Assist the AOP process through supporting manufacturing finance analysis of standards improvement
  • Conduct peer benchmarking to evaluate company performance versus peers
  • Quickly and accurately respond to ad hoc queries from internal customers (including Sr./Executive Management)
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities to streamline core FP&A processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness as well as supporting overall company optimization initiatives
  • Support senior management through analysis of monthly results, schedules for executive meetings, earnings release support and BOD financial packages

 

Competencies Required:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail & high level of data accuracy
  • Ability to analyze trends and bring together multiple sources of data to provide useful information to support decision making
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-impact office environment
  • Ideal candidate will show drive and ambition to develop and grow into more senior finance roles
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple organizations
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Familiarity with Hyperion Planning,PVM and/or Tableau a plus

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or Economics preferred (MBA a plus)
  • 2+ years financial analysis experience, experience working in a fast-paced, complex business environment
