About the role:
As a core member of the Indirect Sourcing team, the Sr. Global Category Manager develops and executes global category strategies for the Logistics, Distribution, and Transportation services that support Boston Scientific’s worldwide operations. In partnership with stakeholders across Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Quality, this role ensures sourcing strategies are aligned with organizational goals and operational needs, while championing meaningful innovation, high performance, and global collaboration. The incumbent will manage a broad portfolio of services including freight, warehousing, third-party logistics (3PL), customs brokerage, and final mile delivery to achieve sustainable cost reductions, mitigate supply chain risk and drive overall business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading global RFI/RFP processes including bid analysis, and contract negotiations with logistics service providers in conjunction with Global Transportation and internal stakeholders
- Establishing and leading cross-functional category councils to drive stakeholder engagement and ensure sourcing strategies align with business needs
- Collaborating with stakeholders to forecast and consolidate demand; identify and implement opportunities to reduce demand and optimize spend
- Gathering and analyzing global spend data, market trends, and supply chain risks to identify innovative solutions, optimize value improvement opportunities and cost savings
- Managing strategic supplier relationships via performance reviews, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Integrating key pillars of indirect sourcing strategy, including cost leadership, supplier innovation, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability
- Negotiating value improvements and optimizing supplier contracts to ensure balanced engagement and competitive advantage
- Supporting new product development (NPD), transitions, and acquisitions by integrating logistics solutions that meet project timelines and cost targets
- Serving as a trusted advisor and partner to internal stakeholders to identify logistics needs and align sourcing strategies; ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in all sourcing activities
- Promoting a work environment of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on global logistics, transportation, and distribution
- Experience with contract negotiation and strategic sourcing methodologies; ability to lead complex sourcing initiatives across multiple regions and business units
- Experience managing global supplier relationships including third-party logistics (3PL) providers, performance, and service optimization
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and value improvement programs
- Working knowledge of freight management (air, ocean, ground), warehousing, customs brokerage, and distribution network design
- Knowledge of logistics industry trends, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices
- Ability to travel up to 20% globally
Preferred qualifications:
- Effective project management and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Tableau, SAP, Ariba, or similar systems
- Proficient in AI applications (CoPilot, ChatGPT, Deep Research, etc.)
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels internally and externally

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
