About the role

The Senior Global Product Manager for Endoscopy Marketing will be involved in all aspects of building and refining the franchise strategy while developing and launching products for our Core GI, Therapeutic Imaging business.  This position provides the opportunity to develop an entirely new franchise that builds off the largest unit volume product line across all Boston Scientific divisions, and a franchise that is the cornerstone of the Endoscopy division.  It is combination of upstream/downstream focus, and this person should have the interest and aptitude to define the opportunity for Endoscopy in adjacent market spaces – from market sizing to make vs buy decisions to eventual commercialization.

Your responsibilities will include:

Develop Market and Customer Insights

•            Identifies needs for market research to support franchise product development and commercialization

•            Develops strong market modeling assumptions to support market development with global internal & external customers.

•            Develops/has expertise on global competitive technologies, including: products, strategies, strengths and weakness.  Utilizes this information to form strategies to ensure commercial success.

•            Utilizes multiple sources to derive insights into customer needs. 

•            Gathers and analyzes customer data to determine future offerings and marketing strategies.

 

Marketing Strategy (develop/execute) and Influences Product Development

•            Contributes to development of 5-year global strategic plans by building a business case for both product portfolio and new market opportunities, with minimal guidance.

•            Creates innovative downstream commercial offerings that recognize changes in Global healthcare and can be tailored to regional needs, or meets the needs of multiple regions

•            Independently represents Global marketing and franchise on one or more Product Development teams. Capable of being part of more than one PDP team simultaneously

Leads creation of Market Specifications and financial model, mostly independently

•            Develops targeting, positioning and value propositions and trains Sales force.

•            Independently develops and leads execution of comprehensive competitive response plans. 

 

Communication and Relationship Building

•            Leverages deep, established relationships with key KOLs to execute key franchise & business initiatives.  Regularly connects to drive education, market adoption and innovation of BSC products.

•            Develops Global relationships and builds credibility with key internal cross functional stakeholders.

•            Is comfortable working with cross-functional teams and has experience in influencing others

What we’re looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in assessing new market spaces and developing business strategy and recommendations.  Including market sizing, market research, strategic fit.
  • Prior experience in upstream and/or downstream marketing.  Ideal candidate has both.
  • Experiencing managing products that are medically/clinically oriented
  • Experience in managing both mature and innovative technologies.  Ideal candidate will be able to develop a plan to migrate technology from mature to novel with both clinical and economic arguments
  • May have experience with developing economic arguments to influence purchasing decisions in hospitals, surgery centers.  Ideal candidate has experience in domestic surgery center market and/or key international markets
  • Domestic and global travel up to 35% (First 12 months will likely be <20%)
