Senior Global Supply Chain Planner

About the Role:

At Boston Scientific, the Senior Global Supply Chain Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling and executing demand planning activities to meet customer needs, marketing requirements and service level objectives in the Urology division. This role entails close collaboration with divisional, regional, service and clinical teams to maintain optimal finished goods inventory levels and ensure system integrity across assigned product families. The Senior Global Supply Chain Planner drives execution of strategic initiatives such as inventory coordination for key events and new product launches, while monitoring key performance indicators including forecast accuracy/bias and sales and operations planning metrics. With strong cross-functional collaboration and end-to-end supply chain thinking, this role enhances agility across value streams and provides essential support to elevate Supply Chain effectiveness with the end customer in mind.

Your Responsibilities Include: 

  • Demand Planning: Review statistically generated forecasts with Global Supply Chain Planning Manager, Marketing, and Finance; Review safety stock targets and recommend changes; Work with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to identify all known demand sources (customer orders, scheduling agreements, distributor shipment, consignment, etc.).
  • New Product Launch Management: New Product Development Core Team Member; Provide data and analysis to assist with the development of forecasts, cannibalization plans, manufacturing ramp up plans, etc. Participate and support EOL processes and decisions.
  • Inventory Management: Develop inventory plans for assigned products; Monitor inventory performance to plan and targets; Plan and manage expired, excess and obsolescence reserves.
  • Supply Chain Execution: Support daily/weekly/monthly planning processes: Provide inventory analysis; Proactively manage backorders; manage mix/execution with manufacturing and/or suppliers. Supply Chain Lead for the day-to-day challenges with cross-functional teams. (Regulatory, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Distribution, Sourcing, etc.).
  • Support SI&OP Process: Lead demand management & net requirement handoff meetings, along with participating in supply reviews with internal manufacturing sites and external suppliers, including debriefing monthly SI&OP cycle with Franchise Leadership.
  • Achieve & Diagnose Performance Metrics: Understand and influence metrics such as: Service Level; Backorder; Inventory; Forecast Accuracy/Bias, Scrap.

Required Qualifications:
 
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 6+ years’ experience in Supply Chain planning, materials management, manufacturing planning or inventory control function
  • Working experience with DRP, MPS, MRP, SAP or ERP System
  • Strong PC skills utilizing such software programs as Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Consistently performs to a high level of accuracy and with a high attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and willing to accept new ideas, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical critical thinking skills and able to make efficient decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and with business stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
