About the role: 

 

The Senior Manager, Global Security will manage the development and implementation of an effective global security strategy and program to mitigate risk, safeguard the organization's human assets, intellectual property, integrity, reputation and physical assets to ensure continuity of operations under the leadership of the Chief Security Officer. This Senior Manager will execute daily management of the global security program to align with its corporate objectives and address all aspects of security for the organization's global businesses, including crisis management, emergency preparedness and response, investigations, physical security, personnel security, security education and training, contingency planning, administrative security, and executive personal protection.

 

Your responsibilties include: 

  • Support Chief Security Officer in the development and implementation of a corporate wide security plan that assesses current threats and vulnerabilities, identifies protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with corporate strategic objectives, and details the efficient and cost-effective utilization of security resources
  • Develop global security policies, objectives, budgets, plans, procedures and schedules for the respective regions which may include international locations, oversee security-related quality control audits and evaluate work standards and performance levels ensuring uniformity, effectiveness and appropriate staffing levels. Ensure that appropriate mitigations are in place or planned.
  • Lead and manage security related corporate-wide global projects, and ensure key objectives are met.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Global Security corporate-wide initiative for business continuity plans, including OUS.
  • Develop training programs and curriculum that can be deployed globally, and oversee training exercises to ensure organizational preparedness for a business resiliency or security related incident and raise employee awareness and engagement.
  • Respond to business resiliency related emergencies and support crisis management globally
  • Coordinate and manage executive and personnel protection security details in international hotspots, including the creation of emergency action plans to ensure preparedness.  
  • Participate in cross functional efforts with Real Estate and Facilities, Legal, Human Resources, Privacy & Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Finance (Sarbanes/Oxley), Senior Enterprise Management and Information Systems to provide thorough analysis of security risks and development of appropriate mitigating strategies.
  • Oversee department’s participation in the development of new facilities and facility renovations from a security standpoint, including security installations and programming of CCTV hardware and access control hardware.
  • Have current knowledge/familiarity with emerging security technologies and practices. Explore and implement new security technologies that provide value to the business.
  • Develop initiatives to stabilize compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and be knowledgeable of current trends in the security industry.
  • Manage the regional security teams, consisting of internal security personnel and/or partners and vendors, as appropriate to ensure the efficient and cost-effective utilization of security resources.
  • Oversee the respective sites' global security operations centers. Establish and support a mission-focused work environment that continuously improves. Ensure all operations center members are trained to do their work and their training is documented.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with local, state and federal agencies, and security peers, consultants and vendors, including OUS as appropriate.
  • Oversee corporate investigations initiatives, which aligns partners, describes process and procedure and identifies corporate goals in the conduct of an investigation. Establish, document, and monitor metrics to measure productivity and resource needs.

 

What we're looking for: 

Basic Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree in relevant field preferred.
  • 10 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility in a private sector multi-national corporate security organization.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of best-in class security processes and practices.
  • Demonstrated international program management experience.
  • Formalized project management background, i.e. Waterfall, Scrum, Agile or other project management methodologies. PMP a plus. Experience will include building business cases for investment, vetting contractors, and executing global enterprise wide projects in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in navigating high-stress and high-impact emergency management and response. Experience across multiple countries a must; in high-risk countries preferred.
  • Experience in managing threat assessments, including risks, impact and mitigation of data/I.T. breaches and terrorist attacks.
  • Experience presenting to C-Suite and BOD level executives in the private sector.
  • Solid reputation as being a valued business partner.
  • Extensive experience in developing policies, SOPs, and protocols, and exercising training to ensure compliance and preparedness.  
  • Experience overseeing global security operations centers.
  • Experience in conducting complex investigations, preferably in the manufacturing and supply chain environment.
  • Experience with innovating risk management across value chains and background in supply chain in the life sciences field (or similar high consequence environments).
  • Experience with strategy management and converting strategy to execution in multiple countries
  • Working knowledge of access control and CCTV systems is required. Must have experience developing and managing physical security requirements across a variety of site types.
  • Experience working with local and national enforcement agencies; experience with international agencies preferred.
  • Experience with the creation of budgets, business cases to support expenditure, & capital project management.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including consulting, team building and collaboration.
