The Senior Product Designer within the Global Educare Center of Excellence, is responsible for practicing and implementing design strategy and practices throughout the Educare product development. This position will focus on global initiatives, as well as being a key player in developing/evolving experience guidelines and standards for the customer facing platform. This role will lead projects from conceptual stages all the way to clear, well-defined designs. This role will report directly to the Director, Global Educare Center of Excellence, within Global Digital Marketing at Boston Scientific.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Lead Product Designer, establishing and harmonizing our global Educare  experience with both user and business needs in mind
  • Communicate ideas effectively from concept through development, exuding a collaborative approach with cross-functional teams
  • Design full-service consumer and business applications, translating complex user needs, technical constraints, and business goals into thoughtful, effective digital experiences
  • Broad expertise in user experience and interaction design, user research, and visual design
  • Develop compelling, mobile first user experiences that are driven by data and user research
  • Approach work with thought leadership in User-Centered Design, and design-thinking to achieve a customer-centered solution
  • Lead test plans and help facilitate user-centered research, such as usability testing, contextual inquiry, and field interviews
  • Prototype, design, validate and collaborate with technical teams to develop components for the Educare platform
  • Participate in ongoing planning and adjustment of strategic goals, scope, and timelines
  • Articulate Product Design Vision to the team, to stakeholders, and to external parties
  • Adjust product direction based on data and end-user feedback
  • Work with colleagues in other Design functions within company, enable communication and compliance with Corporate design guidelines
  • Support existing efforts to establish and build credibility for the Educare program.
  • Maintain and continuously upgrade her/his knowledge of MedEd technologies, external competitive landscape, regulations, clinical settings, clinical workflows, product interconnectivity and system integrations; capable of learning rapidly to fill any knowledge gaps.
  • Proposes new solutions or optimizes existing ones. Encourages artifact reuse and consistency across team members and projects.
  • Work within atomic design principles, collaborating with our Design System team to evolve Educare guidelines
  • Partner with the global UX team to develop design standards

 

Qualifications (List minimum education and experience required)

  • 7+ years of professional experience and an online portfolio that showcases strong user-centered digital creative
  • BS Degree in a design-related field
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners on product and experience strategy and direction
  • Proven experience in ideation, UX strategy, rapid prototyping and leading user validation
  • Strong background in Visual and UI design, along with leveraging/contributing to Design Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to guide product decisions through user research, customer development, and iterative feedback loops
  • Complete UX skill set: workshop facilitation, identifying customer problem statements, problem discovery, solution generation, concept creation, wireframing, testing, synthesis, iteration, prototyping, heuristic evaluation, competitive analysis and customer journey mapping
  • Deep familiarity of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, SASS, JS. You need to be able to discuss your solutions with developers and communicate requirements, but you do not need to be a developer
  • Have a solid understanding of accessibility guidelines and how to design to achieve ADA compliance
  • MA/ MN based preferred, but can be a completely remote role based on the candidate
