About the role:
The primary responsibility of this Project Manager role is to lead Global Clinical Vendor Partnerships. This role will be partnering with BSC business divisions, functions and key stakeholders to apply project management concepts in managing Global Clinical strategic vendor partnerships by implementing strategic solutions that increase value, capabilities and advance our Global Clinical mission. This Project Manager will be responsible for managing external partnerships, setting up governance with external vendors, acting as internal escalation point for all partner issues, owning global clinical Vendor selection and vendor management procedures and processes.  


 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acts at the central point of contact across Global Clinical divisions to own and implement best practices and standard ways of operations while executing Clinical work with partners/vendors
  • Collaborates with clinical core team members, ensures clinical programs are carried out to a standard consistent with regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures
  • Contributes to and reviews Global clinical partner escalation process for functional escalations
  • Enables appropriate models for execution of projects, programs, and partner training and relationship development
  • Interfaces with other departments, senior Clinical management, medical directors, senior functional management, and acts as BSC single point of contact across divisions
  • Develops, manages and implements charters and project plans outlining work plans, timelines, roles, and resources for multiple tracks of work
  • Directs project execution by assigning tasks, managing project resources, working with subject matter resources, tracking project schedules, mitigating risks/issues, and developing and executing contingency plans
  • Track and manage risks, actions, issues, decisions, and metrics for the overall project, escalate/drive risks and issues to resolution and ensure project team members are completing deliverables in alignment with the timelines 
  • Consistently strives to identify opportunities to introduce efficiencies to our clinical processes and assists in the development of portfolio management practices, project related document library, best practice sharing platform and other initiatives that continue to evolve the Global Clinical Operations teams
  • Supports the increased connectivity of Global Clinical Operations to the Divisions and key partners/functions
  • Acts as a mentor to provide partnership management guidance and coaching to project team members and/or to others outside of the project
  • Ensures that best practices of study conduct are leveraged across the clinical organization and implements process efficiencies where possible and coordinates global harmonization through other clinical functional line managers
  • Responsible for the provision of meaningful metrics to support the clinical organization and ensures staff is trained on the study specific materials, which include protocols, study tools, etc
  • Monitoring, analysis, and reporting of functional metrics
  • Responsible to collaborate across clinical divisions to facilitate and resolve functional risks, issues and compliance gaps
  • Collaborate and provide subject matter expertise to divisional leads for developing acquisition integration strategies
  • Responsible to determine, implement and execute standardized vendor oversight activities for outsourced functional tasks
  • Responsible for representing Clinical functional processes with partners at internal and external audits
  • Closely partner with Clinical Sourcing team to implement efficient processes to achieve operational excellence
  • Services as a liaison to internal Clinical quality departments for coordination of implementing new regulations and maintenance of ongoing regulatory requirements  
  • Lead and/or support internal clinical strategic initiatives where partner relationships are involved
  • The position requires strong leadership, collaboration, project management, communication, and change management skills
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures
     

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and education 
  • 6+ years experience leading and working on projects with multiple workstreams
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical research
  • Strong experience in dealing with vendors, CROs, Core Labs, and all external clinical supplier partners
  • Experience in setting up Governance model with vendors and implement metrics to measure performance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative partnerships with a variety of internal & external stakeholders throughout all levels of the organization
  • Ability to diagnose problems which could be related to strategy, process, technology, or people and collaborate with workstreams and leadership to put in place appropriate actions/measures
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience following quality management standards within a life science and/or medical device regulatory framework
  • Keen interest / experience in identifying improvement opportunities, challenging status quo, driving functional excellence
  • Proven organizational skills and clear and concise communications 
  • Familiar working with Microsoft Office 365 tools
