About the role:
The Commercial Project Manager will lead high-impact, strategic commercial initiatives within the Endoscopy division. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams across functions, sites, and regions to develop and execute integrated project strategies and tactical plans that support successful new product launches, digital initiatives, and enterprise process implementations. The Commercial Project Manager will also contribute to the evolution of project management tools, methodologies, and best practices, helping to advance PMO capabilities and drive consistent, scalable execution.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough, MA office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead end-to-end execution of key initiatives by driving team performance, managing stakeholder communications, and ensuring successful delivery of project objectives.
- Create, maintain, and govern integrated project plans and schedules, including milestones and deliverables.
- Lead cross-functional core teams, including Marketing, Sales, Health Economics and Market Access, Professional Education, Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, and other key stakeholders.
- Drive accountability to project schedules, milestones, and outcomes across matrixed teams.
- Provide clear, timely, and accurate project status updates, including risks, issues, and recommendations, to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Navigate competing stakeholder priorities to achieve alignment on project scope, strategy, and execution.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, serving as a trusted business partner at both team and leadership levels.
- Identify, assess, and monitor project risks and issues; develop and execute mitigation and contingency plans to minimize disruption.
- Support change management and adoption activities to ensure successful implementation of new processes and tools.
- Contribute to the evolution of PMO capabilities by developing and implementing project management tools, templates, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with Boston Scientific Quality System requirements, including adherence to policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience leading large, complex, cross-functional projects and programs in the medical device industry, including managing matrixed teams and influencing without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to lead senior stakeholders and communicate effectively with director- and VP-level leadership.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong business acumen with experience driving alignment between project execution and commercial strategy.
- Track record of accountability for program-level outcomes, not only project deliverables.
- Experience identifying, mitigating, and escalating risks in complex, ambiguous environments.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Ability to travel up to 20%, as needed.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business or a related field.
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent), with demonstrated ability to pragmatically apply methodologies in complex, ambiguous environments.
- Demonstrated change leadership driving adoption of new processes, tools, or operating models.
- Experience mentoring or coaching project managers or contributing to PMO thought leadership.
- Commercial experience leading go-to-market planning, digital marketing initiatives, and customer experience initiatives.
