About the role:


We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead our IT Finance and R&D Enterprise Solution initiatives.  The person will play a crucial role in designing and implementing comprehensive Oracle EPM and PPM solutions to meet BSC’s financial and planning needs. This professional is responsible for understanding business requirements, architecting solutions, and providing technical guidance throughout the implementation process.

 
The individual will need to be an innovative thinker, technically savvy, and a strategic problem-solver. The ideal candidate will have experience applying architecture concepts in an agile environment and will have the ability to understand business challenges and recommend best practices. You will collaborate across multiple divisional/regional business partners, Finance Product Teams, R&D PMO, Enterprise architects, and cross-functional teams to meet business needs and deliver value.
 
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with R&D PMO, R&D Finance, Corp Finance teams, and business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements related to financial planning, analysis, reporting, and project portfolio management.
  • Develop both high-level and detailed solution designs that align with the organization's financial and project management requirements, ensuring scalability, performance, and security of the proposed solutions.
  • Design and implement new systems while maintaining and optimizing existing systems to meet organizational needs.
  • Integrate new EPM and PPM systems with other enterprise systems such as SAP, Kronos, JIRA, Tableau, SuccessFactors, and more.
  • Design data models and architectures that facilitate accurate financial data collection, storage, and analysis, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Translate verbal requirements gathered in customer meetings into technical requirements documents, statements of work, and proposals.
  • Assist in gathering requirements, conducting discovery sessions, whiteboarding solutions, and delivering product demos.
  • Deliver assignments in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial, and quality measures.
  • Mentor team members in technology, architecture, and application delivery.
  • Gain exposure to Tax and Treasury applications to broaden technical and business expertise.


Required Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of leading complex enterprise IT projects with a focus on EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) and PPM (Project Portfolio Management), including designing, validating, and successfully implementing complex architectures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field, with over 10 years of experience as an IT Analyst, Developer, Tech Lead, or Architect.
  • Deep expertise in Oracle EPM suite products, including Oracle EPM Cloud Data Management (EDM), Planning (EPBCS), Consolidation (FCCS), and Profitability and Cost Management (EPCM) applications.
  • Extensive experience in large and complex enterprise project environments, leveraging Agile delivery practices, preferably in a lead role.
  • Strong ability to introduce automation and transformative solutions within EPM and PPM environments, with expertise in PPM tools like Planisware and deep knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with technical trends and advancements, sharing learnings across teams and projects.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage at all levels, from developers and business partners to management.
  • Proven leadership in partnering with external vendors and business partners on projects, as well as leading on-shore/off-shore teams across multiple cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of EPM and PPM application workflows, including end-to-end processes, batch schedules, data and metadata management, security protocols, and data transformations for inbound and outbound systems.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Over 3 years of experience as a Solution Architect, with a proven ability to articulate and present diverse perspectives on various technologies.
  • Extensive experience working in regulated environments with quality systems, demonstrating strong documentation skills.
  • Solid finance acumen and project experience with Finance Technology, including Oracle EPM SaaS, Hyperion On-Prem, SAP, Planisware, and Planview.
