About the role:
Boston Scientific is recruiting for a Senior Communications Specialist who makes meaningful contributions to our business and demonstrates a passion for communications by helping to share our Information Technology (IT) stories with our internal stakeholders. This senior specialist will be an integral member of the Corporate Communications team with responsibility for providing a variety of communications services and project coordination related to the implementation of IT communications programs. 

This role is based out of our Headquarters in Marlborough, MA and will be a hybrid position, requiring the team member to be in the office 2-3 days per week on average.  Minnesota based candidates also considered.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a wide range of written communications for a variety of IT programs and projects including internal announcements and presentations as well as company intranet and newsletter stories. 
  • Support the global IT communications strategy, messaging and execution for large initiatives and company-wide programs, issues, updates or changes.
  • Edit and proofread materials to ensure consistency of voice and style across communications. Coordinate the cross functional review and approval of IT related communications content with applicable leaders.
  • Serve as communications liaison and support between IT and key stakeholders for summits, town halls, webcasts, connections and other key events. 
  • Create and maintain an Editorial Calendar outlining future IT internal communications initiatives. 
  • Provide project management and organizational support: coordinate content generation and reviews, manage content and distribution of mass emails and monitor group email inboxes.
  • Learn, listen, understand and implement the voice of IT leadership and the Boston Scientific brand voice to maintain authenticity and style across all communications. 

 

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of five years of relevant communications experience in a corporate, agency or news-based environment with a genuine interest in health care news and industry trends.
  • Written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Project management, organizational, planning and time management skills. 
  • Demonstrated business acumen, analytical skills and the ability to synthesize and translate findings into strategic recommendations. 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or equivalent. 
  • Strong attention to detail with big picture vision.
  • Solutions oriented, with a willingness to bring new ideas and try new approaches.
  • Ability to understand, comprehend and translate technical jargon into business user-friendly terminology 
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced team environment while also displaying independence, initiative and enterprise; ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with platforms and programs such as Yammer, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint 
  • Bright “quick thinker” and self-starter.
