About the role:
Within the Global Transportation Organization this team is responsible for the compliance of all operational movements in international trade. The candidate has the opportunity to be a part of a team that assists in ensuring patients receive lifesaving medical devices. This person will have the opportunity to optimize costs, manage risk and improve compliance within a growing company.
This position can be based at any US Boston Scientific location. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- We are looking for a leader who can communicate and manage to all levels of the organization.
- Conduct audits to ensure accuracy of declarations and submissions and assist in implementing corrective actions if necessary
- Support post entry activities including post summary corrections, protests, CF-28 and CF-29 requests and penalties
- Monitor and interpret tariff changes and regulations to ensure compliance
- Resolve customs holds and inquiries with government agencies
- Provide internal and external stakeholders with support and trade education to ensure accurate information is available for import transactions
- Collaborate on the implementation, updating and creation of trade processes, policies, KSDs and SOPs
- Support various trade projects including internal dashboards, metrics reporting and internal training
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in Import and/or Export controls.
- High Intermediate knowledge and comfort using Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- In depth experience classifying parts per the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Strong understanding of COO, Valuation and Incoterms
- Experience with CBP’s Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Experience with implementing automated solutions and/or AI solutions
- Knowledge of U.S. FDA import regulations and Medical Devices
- Experience with SAP ECC and SAP GTS and Global Trade Compliance Software
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) preferred
- Experience with FTAs, Duty Drawback, Reconciliation, CTPAT

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
