About The Role:

At BSC Urology, we aim to transform the lives of patients suffering from urological diseases, solving real-world clinical challenges in kidney stone care, prostate health, and urinary dysfunction.

 

As a Software Engineer III, you will contribute to R&D activities across our product portfolio, using your expertise in software engineering, cybersecurity, and quality to deliver secure, high-performance healthcare solutions.

 

You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from early concept to commercial release, ensuring the utmost quality for our patients within a regulated medical device environment.

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Architecture, development, and deployment of software solutions for BSC Urology’s Class-II/Class-III medical devices
  • Growing leadership of efficient, maintainable software development processes, tools, and workflows
  • Collaboration with high-performing software teams, fostering an engineering culture that prioritizes individual growth and shared accountability

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of software development experience, with proficiency in C++11 or newer
  • 3+ years of software development experience working on medical devices or similarly regulated safety-critical systems (i.e. aerospace, automotive)
  • Experience with software development lifecycle, including architecture/requirements definition, design implementation/testing, release documentation, and post-market support
  • Experience with source control, CI/CD, and requirements management tools (i.e. Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins, Cockpit)

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of OS/technology stack hardening based on cybersecurity best practices, such as NIST SSDF and OWASP
  • Familiarity with medical device cybersecurity activities, such as penetration testing and post-market surveillance
  • Working knowledge of medical device industry standards, such as IEC 62304 and IEC 60601
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with project management to develop work breakdown structures and execute functional milestones
  • Understanding of Linux-based operating system architecture fundamentals, including concurrency, memory management and resource utilization
  • Familiarity with health care data standards, such as DICOM, HL7 and IHE

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
