About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to fill a highly visible and strategic role within the Data and Analytics team in the IT organization.  Reporting to the Director, IT Enterprise Analytics, this individual will manage and support offerings across the Unified Data Platform (UDP).

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for managing intake, onboarding, and backlog of the Unified Data Platform. 
  • Responsible for connecting business and IT stakeholders across various areas such as UDP, MDM, integrations, visualization, AI/ML, etc. 
  • Collaborate with extended functional Data Product Teams to define overarching Data Product roadmap, represents the voice of the user/asset and stakeholders.
  • Champion for modern data architecture strategy and driving adoption of the platform across the organization. 
  • Encourage adoption of standard approaches across Data Product Teams for areas including: data certification process, architecture, project management and toolset standards, operational support. 
  • Facilitate a Program intake review to ensure Data Product Team success
  • Track value-enabled and cost cross-charge commitments
  • Align efforts across Data Strategy, Data Governance, and Platform Technology to support Data Product roadmap
  • Coordinate regular executive and organizational communications to highlight value being enabled through the Unified Data Platform.
  • Incorporate Agile, Lean, and User Centered Design methodologies to execute on product development, implementation, and operations.
  • Work in dedicated, co-located product teams, consisting of Product Managers, Software Engineers, Designers, and Data Scientists/Engineers.
  • Establish and track measurable objectives for the team.
  • Responsible for maintaining product backlog, writing user stories, product feature and design validation, product development prioritization and decisions on releases.
  • Solicit input from Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Security, Privacy and other functions to deliver compliant s in an agile manner.
  • Serve as the interface between the team and the business. Represent the Product Owner, Stakeholders and functions in all team discussions.
  • Manage and communicate project status to stakeholders and senior leadership.

 

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science or Software Engineering, related technical degree.
  • 10+ years experience in program/product management 
  • Strong technical background and experience with Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms, integrations, and data warehousing such as Tableau, Alteryx, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP HANA, Oracle, AWS, Informatica, Snowflake, etc. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Data and Analytics implementations and/or data and reporting projects.
  • Experience managing program financials, operational budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and negotiations. 
  • Experience with software development life cycle, Waterfall, Agile and Dev/Ops methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to clearly communicate with management, business leaders and senior leadership in both written and oral communication.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical solutions to business partners at their level of technical understanding.
  • Excellent organizational skills, experience leading large development teams and strategic initiatives.
  • Deep and broad knowledge of multiple technologies with extensive knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of technologies supported.
  • Understanding of environmental shifts in technology and the impact against products.
  • Understanding of the full breadth of needs for a solution to be brought to market (infrastructure, QA, UA, security, etc.).
  • Able to work on a team in person and in a collaborative virtual settings; self-motivated, self-directed, adaptable.
  • Ability to produce high quality results under tight time constraints.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.
  • Proven experience working in a regulated environment with quality systems which includes strong documentation skills.
