About the role:

This role provides medical therapeutic / product level and clinical research expertise to the clinical affairs team and other cross-functions of the Endoscopy Business Unit. The Clinical Scientist II will assist in medical analysis, medical authorship, multilevel data interpretation (patient level and medical perspective) in support of quality, regulatory, clinical and product development process and business strategy both internally and externally

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Authorship and review of clinical research related study documents and summary reports for both internally and externally sponsored studies
  • Summarize medical literature associated with therapeutic area / product and summarize to assist with meta-analysis support and written overview to support internal teams with regulatory submissions / responses and strategic business support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams with new product development opportunities and provide guidance and support on associated teams.
  • Support clinical affairs team members to ensure timely and compliant execution of study timelines and processes while also reducing impact of potential vulnerabilities.
  • Continuous knowledge development of medical therapeutic area, including but not limited to changes in treatment trends and internal / external products, and clinical trial processes.
  • Presentation of knowledge from medical literature and study design considerations with internal teams.

 

Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Marlborough, MA office at least three days per week.

Required qualifications: 

  • Masters degree with advanced medical science courses or a healthcare professional degree
  • Minimum 4 years of clinically applied science experience
  • Minimum 2 years of medical therapeutic experience or medical clinical research experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical therapies
  • Demonstrated ability to systematically organize key information from medical literature
  • Travel: ability to travel up to 20% including weekends

Preferred qualifications: 

  • PhD with advanced medical science courses or a healthcare professional degree with experience in a clinical care environment
  • Medical device experience in endoscopy; hepaticobiliary therapeutic knowledge and devices preferred
  • Experience with clinical research documentation and regulatory requirements related to medical devices
  • Analytical skills to summarize research data and literature using multiple modalities for different audiences

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
