Sr. Manager, Global Strategy - Endoscopy

Endoscopy is one of the fastest growing and most exciting divisions within Boston Scientific and is quickly becoming a bigger and bigger part of the overall BSC growth story for investors.


The Endoscopy business is complex in that we compete in many diverse markets against many diverse competitors, we are global, and our current strategy includes rapid expansion into new, evolving, high growth, high potential markets.


The Senior Manager of Global Strategy is expected to be a team player serving as an internal consultant to collaboratively lead important initiatives for the organization. S/he is expected to build strong relationships with internal business partners, develop compelling recommendations via creative analysis & research, develop high impact business strategies, and ensure high-quality deliverables and management of projects, leveraging the work of the customer insights and competitive intelligence teams, as well as external market data. This role will require the Manager to rapidly become an expert at understanding the marketplace, help identify market trends and growth opportunities, diagnose customer needs and behaviors, predict likely competitive dynamics, and analyze the economics of business opportunities so that the company can make effective choices to maximize competitive advantage.


This individual will play a key role in our Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan and will have high engagement with our regional partners.


This individual will be in a unique position to work on critical business activities with senior management and will require passion, energy, strong analytical skills and an interest in taking on expanded responsibilities in a rapidly growing division within Boston Scientific. This is a high impact role on a highly visible team and provides fantastic exposure and the ability to contribute materially to Endoscopy’s long term trajectory.


  1. Key Responsibilities
  • As an internal consultant leader, collaboratively work with the franchise leadership teams, regions, and other cross functional partners to assess market opportunities, customer needs, portfolio opportunities, pressure test strategies, create customer segmentation and targeting, and commercial strategies.
  • Synthesize various data sources (internal and external) to understand market trends, make recommendations, and identify and prioritize opportunities for the leadership team to consider
  • Support the Strategic Plan and Annual Operating plan, working closely with the senior leadership team and finance.
  • Analyze critical new business opportunities and key strategic initiatives, and implement pilot projects until the handover to the respective business owner
  • Manage a variety of projects, initiatives, and create presentations for the management team with minimal direction
  • Manage the Customer Insights and Market Modeling teams
  • Regularly build high quality executive level presentations outlining strategy, roadmaps and recommendations, and expected impact of critical initiatives


Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities

In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.



  1. Qualifications (List minimum education and experience required)


  • Strong relationship development/collaboration with a broad set of stakeholders, including marketing, R&D, clinical, health economics, business development, sales, and finance
  • Development and execution of structured approaches to solve unstructured problems
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills
  • Creation of compelling presentations and effective communication of recommendations
  • Experience utilizing a broad range of secondary research, primary qualitative and quantitative research techniques, and synthesis to derive market and customer insights
  • Excellent project management/execution and organizational skills, ability to balance multiple priorities
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Consulting, ideally management consulting at a top tier firm
