Sr. Meeting & Event Specialist, Boston Scientific Endoscopy

 

About the role:

 

Endoscopy is one of the largest and fastest growing divisions within Boston Scientific.  We have a strong culture, a long track record of success, a burning ambition to Transform Healthcare as ONE Endoscopy, and a very bright future.  The Senior Meeting and Events Specialist will play an important role planning and executing a broad range of critical meetings and events including tradeshows, sales and marketing meetings, and professional education courses both in-person and virtually.  These events are essential to achieving our overall business strategy. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Serves as the key project manager for critical events and meetings.  Executes event logistics, works collaboratively with management and key stakeholders, and assures key event objectives are met.
  • Interacts effectively with all levels of management and stakeholders. Manages expectations, timelines, and logistics, and communicates project deliverables.
  • Defines, tracks, and maintains budgets.  Ensures cost-saving measures are taken where appropriate and spending is within allocated amount. 
  • Provides guidance and recommendations on event goals and helps to evaluate program impact and metrics. 
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key customers, both internal and external, serving as primary liaison between customers and Boston Scientific programs.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of meeting & event industry trends and best-in-class practices as related to responsibilities.
  • Develops a solid understanding of products and market.
  • Partners with and manages vendors.
  • Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Helps build and maintain a positive team culture.
  • Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering support.

 

What we’re looking for in you:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ event experience. With knowledge in virtual and in-person events.  
  • Knowledge of or ability and willingness to learn new event management technologies such as CVENT.
  • Ability to travel 30-40%.
  • Excellent project management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically and resourcefully and to move projects to completion.
  • Able to navigate in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where problems are not always well-defined.
  • Highly adaptable, flexible, and willing to accept new ideas, processes, and procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal, communications, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of leadership and stakeholders.
  • Superior organization, process, and communication skills.
