The Sr. Specialist, Logistics Operations is a dynamic role responsible for managing inventory and daily order requests, coordinating and performing shipping and receiving activities, and preparing operational reports based on utilization metrics.

As team lead for a small inventory management team, this role serves as a key operational resource across multiple departments, helping ensure timely order fulfillment, accurate documentation and effective communication with internal stakeholders. The position also supports workflow efficiency, reporting accuracy and cross-functional coordination to meet business and customer needs across two divisions within the organization.

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

This is a full-time, on-site position based at Boston Scientific's Global Headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Regular on-site presence is required to support inventory management, shipping and receiving activities, and cross-functional business needs.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Daily shipping and logistical execution

● Source and maintain on-site not-for-human-use (NFHU) scrap product inventory by assessing inventory levels and order needs.

● Manage order intake and review, providing timely, professional and accurate responses to business requestors and translating requests into order fulfillment activities.

● Coordinate the receipt and delivery of materials across assigned locations.

● Collaborate with business requestors on order substitutions and replacements, as applicable.

● Ensure shipments are packaged, labeled and documented in accordance with applicable work instructions, including Global Trade requirements for international shipments.

● Process and maintain receiving documentation to support complete and auditable records.

● Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and issue resolution.

● Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and quality standards.

 

Analytics and operational reporting

● Develop, maintain and communicate reporting on key operational metrics and performance indicators, including order request volume, product distribution and return activity, scrap rates, sterile-sourced product utilization, and cost center demand and utilization trends.

● Analyze data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for process optimization.

● Contribute to metrics dashboards and reports for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

 

Team coordination and communication

● Facilitate daily team scrums to prioritize work and align team activities with business needs and strategic priorities.

● Represent the function as a subject matter expert during annual on-site internal audits.

● Travel to support large internal events and serve as the on-site logistics lead, including the National Sales Meeting and National Training Conference.

 

Process improvement and cross-functional collaboration

● Establish realistic timelines, coordinate resources and ensure accurate, on-time delivery of materials for projects and events.

● Identify and implement approved process improvement initiatives and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.

 

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

● Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics, shipping, distribution or a related field.

● Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and customer focus.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience interpreting data and developing actionable recommendations.

● Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred qualifications:

● Experience in the medical device industry or another regulated industry.

● Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.

● Experience developing reports, dashboards and data visualizations.

● Working knowledge of logistics and inventory management systems and applications.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
