1st shift 

 

About the role: 
This position works independently to support R&D teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.


Your Responsibilities include: 

  • Develop concepts and accordingly fabricate prototypes/products from concepts. 
  • Utilize basic mechanical drawing or CAD software to document prototypes and fixtures. 
  • Explore and propose creative solutions based on solid rationales and contribute to design and process concepts. 
  • Organize, coordinate, and execute building and testing of prototypes/products per engineering instructions. 
  • Independently conduct root cause analysis and recommend fixes on mechanical and pneumatic devices.
  • Assist project teams in establishing specifications and quality standards. 
  • Use internal resources and qualified external vendors to assist engineering teams to identify and obtain supplies and services. 
  • Contribute to designs to assure good manufacturability.
  • Communicate project status to project teams. 

What we are looking for: 
Basic requirements:

 

  • AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 3 years of related experience. 
  • Experience with documentation in a highly regulated industry.
  • Hands-on failure analysis and root cause investigation experience.
  • Experience with mechanical testing equipment such as Instron or MTS
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience as a member of a large engineering teams on complex projects
  • Experience with common manufacturing technology such as molding, stamping, and machining
  • Experience designing and building prototypes and fixtures
  • Experience creating and executing test methods of moderate complexity
  • Ability to read schematics, mechanical drawings, block diagrams, Fault Tree Diagrams
  • Experience designing and building simple automation 
  • Comfortable with basic statistics
  • Experience with document control systems for medical device
  • Comfortable with electro-mechanical systems
  • Comfortable with Labview
