This Global Quality Vice President will lead the oversight of the Supplier Quality & India R&D Quality organizations – as well as the Quality organization supporting our ERP Business Transformation Program.  He/she/they will partner with site, divisional & regional senior leadership to establish product quality and compliance strategies – and be a key partner in the Global Supply Chain organization in driving the Souring Strategy.  He/she/they will act as a liaison between the company and various governmental agencies and notified bodies around the world to foster compliance within BSC.  He/she/they will serve as a critical member of the Quality Leadership team and will influence the shape the direction of BSC’s quality system.  

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provides vision and leadership for the quality organizations supporting Supplier, Sourced Finished Medical Devices (SFMD), India R&D, and the ERP Business Transformation Program. Determines organizational objectives and links those objectives to quality function, divisions, cross functional partners, and corporate objectives.
  • Strategic leader of this global organization, driving initiatives, in collaboration with divisional quality leaders, cross functional partners, sites, and regions. 
  • Visible leader in the Best4 Quality Strategy for Boston Scientific.
  • Partner with the Global Supply Chain organization in the execution of business strategies.
  • Key Partner for the Global Sourcing Organization in ensuring quality supply of components, services and sourced finished devices for Boston Scientific.
  • Oversight of Supply Base relationships and AVL management.
  • Partnership with the APAC R&D and Divisional Development teams.
  • Will participate in Quality Master Planning (QMP) process as required.
  • Serve as member of the Quality and Regulatory Leadership Team. The team is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Quality and Regulatory organization.
  • Will participate in Quality System Governance Board.
  • Maintains compliance to Global Quality Management System.
  • Manages and maintains effectiveness of Quality Management System.
  • Represents the business or site to outside regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborates with multiple cross-functional colleagues to ensure achievement of goals.
  • Influences executive decision making regarding prioritization of all projects to obtain critical resources and funding for projects.
  • Facilitates the awareness of regulatory and customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Provides expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies to assure compliance, and then assist the organization in driving implementation.
  • Fosters a diverse, inclusive, patient-centric culture that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational and personal objectives.
  • Coaches, develops and mentors Quality employees to ensure their ongoing career development. Ensure fulfillment of employee training requirements.
  • Create an environment that encourages constructive feedback and coaching, understanding of individual career goals and aspirations, and proactive developmental support for all employees.
  • Identify and evaluate critical positions within the function and establish strategies to develop strong talent pipelines and robust succession plans.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience in quality, supplier and/or manufacturing in a regulated industry
  • Experience managing complex matrixed organizational structures and demonstrated capability in collaborating and influencing across such an organization
  • Experience in direct interaction/established relationships with global regulators and/or external suppliers 
  • Proven experience in developing strategies, ensuring effective implementation across the organization, including converting the strategies to meaningful and motivating goals & objectives, into and across an organization
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive and high-performing culture, embracing diversity, equity & inclusion
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and build relationships with a high customer and patient focus
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to establish credibility internally and externally
  • Commitment to organizational effectiveness and team & individual development
  • High sense of urgency and commitment to execution

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Extensive direct Quality Assurance experience preferred
  • Global leadership experience preferred
  • Medical device industry experience preferred
