Field Clinical Engineer, Neuromodulation

ABOUT THE ROLE


The Field Clinical Engineer is responsible for supporting the Neuromodulation sales and marketing process, by providing clinical consultation, teaching, and support on the use of the Neuromodulation portfolio and its appropriate application in the clinical setting. Field Clinical Engineers are required to provide consultation to customers on the complete Neuromodulation product range, provide field support for accurate technical support/ troubleshooting, and strategic collaboration with sales and marketing to develop business in the local territories. 


In addition, Field Clinical Engineers have responsibility for clinical trials at selected clinical trial centers in accordance with clinical protocol requirements, world-wide regulatory body compliance guidelines, and corporate and departmental objectives.

 

 

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

 

  • Providing technical information and advice to Sales Representatives and/or HCPs on Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), Radiofrequency Ablation (RF) and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) products.
  • SCS, RF & DBS device troubleshooting in the field. Provide complex or advanced SCS device programming to provide improved pain therapy to patients.
  • Training on and maintaining knowledge of SCS, RF and DBS products, neuroanatomy and physiology, standard operating procedures, and compliance toward the regulations of world-wide regulatory bodies.
  • Being a subject-matter expert. Supporting and leading technical and anatomical discussions. Providing resources to physicians and colleagues i.e. literature reviews on a topic of interest.
  • Liaising with US Technical Support Team to align guidance with international recommendations on contraindications/warnings/precautions. Adhering to reporting guidelines for product complaints.
  • Delivering technical presentations to physicians, fellows and/or mid-level clinicians at National and Regional Clinician training workshops.
  • Training new team members and proactively improving processes for greater efficiency.
  • Providing case coverage for patient device implant procedures within the Operating Room environment.
  • Providing technical support for peripheral business tools i.e. installing & debugging software, computer issues, network connectivity, printer access, how-to-guides, salesforce, box.
  • Proctors at internal and external training workshops.
  • Providing guidance on good clinical research practice in developing research sites. Liaise with international clinical, R&D team to understand research direction for potential collaborations.
  • Managing clinical trial activity relating to training, education, and technical support.
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy, Code of Conduct and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Biomedical Engineering Degree essential. 
  • Previous experience in a similar role or, experience in a patient facing role.
  • Familiar with a clinical environment with a strong preference for inter-operative experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders including clinicians, patients, and other HCP’s.
  • Proven experience in adapting approach to suit varying needs of customers and business.
  • Highly organised with superior time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to frequently travel interstate.
