Market Development Specialist

As the Market Development Specialist, you will be taking a customer focused approach to supporting the development, implementation, and on-going management of market development programs for the Spinal Cord Stimulation franchise. You will collaborate with cross functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Regulatory, Compliance, etc.) to ensure organizational alignment and effective implementation of programs to enhance the referring physician pathway and increase therapy awareness of Boston Scientific and Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS).



  • Develop and execute the SCS Market Development Strategy.
  • Market Assessment – partner with marketing to gather Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) feedback, validate assumptions and support customer target segmentation and message definition.
  • Market Conditioning – engage KOL’s in pre-launch market development activities to support the planning process and execution.
  • Market Activation – collaborate with the commercial team in early stage and full launch execution of all market development activities.
  • Management and development of Boston Scientific’s SCS website.
  • Enhance and execute on strengthening patient referral pathways for SCS.
  • Build and maintain long lasting relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Create, manage, and communicate SCS market development marketing material, digital campaigns, and other marketing resources.
  • Collaborate with third party consultants to design and execute the market development strategy.

  • Regularly participates in discussions and presentations in small, cross-functional meetings, logically presenting information to convey key messages.




  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Healthcare, Pharma, medical device industries is required; however other relevant experience will be considered for an exceptional candidate.
  • Extensive Customer Facing Experience is required.
  • Demonstrated digital marketing management experience.
  • Experience leading small projects or project steps with manageable risks and resource requirements.
  • Key opinion leader management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing programs to grow the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel locally, interstate and internationally as required.
