Field Service Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is based in Melbourne and will report to the CETS Manager. As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be on the front lines supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced medical technologies. Working under the guidance of the CETS Manager, you’ll serve as a vital technical ambassador—ensuring our life-saving devices operate flawlessly in clinics and hospitals. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that balances technical mastery with empathy and professionalism.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform installation, commissioning, and configuration of CE products at customer sites.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
- Diagnose and repair equipment faults, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain timely & accurate service records and documentation in a digital system for compliance and traceability.
- Collaborate with the CETS Manager and other FSEs to support ongoing service strategies, field team coordination, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Provide technical support and training to clinical staff on equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
- Communicate effectively with hospital stakeholders to coordinate service visits and manage expectations.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control procedures, and safety standards.
- Monitor, organise and maintain personal trunk stock, tools & test measurement equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, TGA, Medsafe (NZ), and internal quality assurance requirements.
- Work closely with Customer Service Team for scheduling and parts logistics.
- Liaise with the Service Contracts Specialist to support contract delivery and upsell opportunities.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field.
- 5+ years’ experience in field service, with proven expertise in medical devices or hospital equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally.
- Experience working in surgical and cath lab environments is highly desirable.
