With access to the latest tools, information and training, we’ll help you in advancing your skills and career. Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.

About the Role:

As an Account Manager (AM) in Interventional Oncology and Embolisation (IO&E), your role is pivotal in helping clinicians deliver minimally invasive treatments to patients living with cancer.

You will manage the end-to-end sales process for your accounts, identifying opportunities that improve patient outcomes while driving sustainable business growth. Your focus is on building strong partnerships with clinical and economic stakeholders to ensure our solutions are positioned where they can make the greatest impact.

Working within the IO&E business, you will represent:

  • Ablation portfolio: RFA and Cryoablation technologies used across a range of benign and malignant treatment pathways.
  • TheraSphere and Simplicit90Y: supporting clinicians with personalised dosimetry treatment planning, prospective and retrospective case review, and the pursuit of strong clinical outcomes.
  • IO Core portfolio: From microcatheters to embolization products and drains, a wide range of Interventional Radiology consumables.

The territory covered will predominantly be North East England, extending South to Sheffield and Hull as well as covering our high-growth technology portfolio in Scotland. On average, you will travel approximately four days per week within the territory for commercial and clinical activities.

To maximise client support coverage across the territory, it is preferable to be located between Newcastle and North Yorkshire.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide actionable insights to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM), Business Unit Manager (BUM), and Marketing, such as market size, product trends, competitive landscape, and stakeholder mapping to shape annual strategic plans.
  • Understand each account’s unmet clinical and economic needs. Develop detailed account plans and execute tailored sales strategies for Tier 1 and Tier 2 accounts, ensuring alignment with regional and national objectives.
  • Build trust with Interventional Radiologists, Oncologists, and economic decision-makers.
  • Promote the clinical benefits and health economics of our solutions to secure adoption and reimbursement.
  • Partner with clinical specialists to identify opportunities arising from case support.
  • Use clinical insights to strengthen your commercial discussions and position our therapies effectively.
  • Anticipate upcoming tenders and negotiations. Prepare proposals that reflect account-specific needs and collaborate with the Tenders team to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Drive new business by identifying opportunities during customer visits, initiating discussions on future evaluations, and ensuring agreements are renewed promptly.
  • Participate in QBRs and leverage CRM data to track progress, align with the broader sales team, and maintain transparency across all activities.
  • In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
  • This remote field-based role offers a permanent contract and covers North-East UK.
  • With extensive travel, you will be in the field approximately four days per week; however, the amount is dependent on commercial and client needs.

What are we looking for in you:

  • Successfully completed degree studies (or equivalent) within Biomedical Sciences or a healthcare subject (e.g. within the field of oncology OR radiology) is beneficial.
  • A deep understanding of the oncology care pathway and embolisation techniques.
  • Proven commercial expertise within Medical Device sales, preferably with day-to-day sales of consumables.
  • Strong communication skills and relationship building expertise with clinical champions and economic stakeholders.
  • Can increase the adoption of Boston Scientific’s interventional oncology portfolio, leading to improved patient access to minimally invasive cancer treatments.
  • Can understand and communicate complex technical and clinical details.
  • Can rapidly adapt to a very dynamic marketplace.
  • Strong team player, collaborative, and can work cross-functionally.
  • Self-motivated and can influence others.
  • Flexible, adaptable but focused and persistent.
  • Willing and can travel extensively as required by workload.
