Commercial Training Manager - WATCHMAN

About the Role

 

As Commercial Training Manager – WATCHMAN, you will be instrumental in driving the success and adoption of WATCHMAN FLX (WATCHMAN FLX - Left Atrial Appendage Closure Device - Boston Scientific), Boston Scientific’s next-generation Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) device, through impactful training and development strategies.

This position is a key member of the WATCHMAN commercial team, supporting the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning programs aimed at enhancing the commercial capabilities and clinical acumen of field teams and referral stakeholders. You’ll help elevate performance by ensuring our commercial teams are well-prepared to engage effectively with healthcare professionals and drive therapy adoption.

In this role, you will work closely with the EMEA Commercial Learning & Development Team, Sales Leaders, Marketing, and Clinical teams to ensure a consistent, data-driven, and customer-centric training approach aligned with the strategic goals of the WATCHMAN business.

 

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include

 

Learning Strategy & Execution

  • Support the execution of the WATCHMAN training strategy in alignment with regional business priorities and global L&D frameworks.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver programs that improve knowledge, engagement, and performance of commercial teams, with a focus on referral network activation and clinical messaging consistency.
  • Contribute to the design, coordination, and facilitation of onboarding and ongoing development programs tailored to commercial and customer-facing teams.

 

Curriculum Development & Content Oversight

  • Co-develop targeted training content for the WATCHMAN portfolio, including classroom, virtual, and e-learning formats.
  • Ensure training materials are scientifically sound, aligned with clinical evidence, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Therapy Awareness, and Global L&D teams to maintain content accuracy and relevance, particularly in fast-evolving clinical contexts.

 

Performance Measurement & Improvement

  • Monitor training effectiveness through quantitative and qualitative metrics (e.g., participation, assessments, feedback).
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics to inform ongoing training strategy.
  • Identify learning gaps and propose updates to programs, tools, and methodologies to support commercial excellence.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, and Medical Affairs to drive alignment between commercial goals and training priorities.
  • Support field teams in developing the competencies needed to build and manage strong relationships with referring physicians (e.g., Electrophysiologists, Neurologists, Nephrologists, Cardiologists, PCPs).
  • Contribute to the success of commercial initiatives such as product launches, referral pathway standardization, and customer engagement projects.

 

System & Tools Ownership

  • Help manage the divisional Learning Management System (LMS), including course deployment, tracking, and user support.
  • Maintain and update the L&D SharePoint site and training calendar.

 

 

What We’re Looking for in You

 

  • 3–5 years’ experience in Commercial Learning & Development, preferably in MedTech or Pharma, with a strong understanding of healthcare systems in EMEA, particularly Germany, France, UK, Italy, and Spain.
  • Familiarity with Cardiovascular or Interventional specialties, ideally with exposure to WATCHMAN or structural heart therapies.
  • Commercial experience as a very welcome plus.
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and evaluate adult learning programs using blended learning methods.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable with digital learning tools, CRM/LMS platforms (e.g., SuccessFactors, ServiceNow), and training analytics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
