About the role

We are looking for a Field Clinical Specialist (Floating) to support the WATCHMAN™ therapy (Left Atrial Appendage Closure).

This role provides on‑site clinical support for implantations and follow‑up procedures across multiple EMEA countries, often on short notice.

This is a highly dynamic clinical role requiring extensive travel across the EMEA region, high adaptability, and a flexible work schedule, including occasional weekends with compensatory days off.

Location: based in Italy, in any city near a major airport.

Key responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Provide on‑site case support for WATCHMAN implantations and follow‑up examinations across the assigned EMEA region.
  • Act as the primary clinical contact for physicians, nurses, and cath‑lab/EP‑lab staff regarding procedural guidance and product‑related questions.
  • Ensure the highest standard of clinical support in environments with different workflows, cultures, and experience levels.
  • Respond rapidly to support requests received through internal systems — this role requires proactivity and the ability to adapt quickly.
  • Assist in identifying suitable patient indications and discussing the clinical evidence with healthcare professionals.

Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Interaction

  • Work closely with local sales representatives while maintaining a purely clinical focus (limited commercial activities/paperwork).
  • Partner with clinical, therapy, and technical teams to share insights and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Support coordination of therapy‑specific activities in collaboration with the WATCHMAN team and specialist departments.

Market & Therapy Expertise

  • Develop strong therapy‑specific knowledge of LAAC procedures and the WATCHMAN technology.
  • Build clinical credibility across diverse geographies and healthcare systems.
  • Adapt to different procedural settings (e.g., countries with or without pre‑CT workflows).

Profile & Qualifications

Education

  • Preferred: Nursing degree or comparable.
  • Alternatively: Biomedical Engineering or equivalent clinical education.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in a hospital environment (e.g., cath lab, EP lab, OR).
  • Strong ability to learn rapidly, read procedural situations, and adapt accordingly.

Core Competencies

  • High adaptability, autonomy, and flexibility.
  • Strong clinical mindset and ability to collaborate with diverse medical teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in high‑pressure procedural settings.
  • Strong customer and patient orientation.
  • Ability to build trust quickly and work effectively across different countries and cultures.

Languages

  • English: Good written and spoken proficiency
  • Additional European languages are a plus.

Travel & Working Conditions

  • Extensive travel across EMEA, often with very short notice.
  • Flexible availability — occasional weekend work may be required (with recovery time provided).
  • Comfort working in constantly changing environments and with varying local processes.

What we can offer

  • Rapid development of clinical expertise thanks to exposure to multiple healthcare systems, customers, and procedural approaches.
  • Opportunity to support a highly innovative therapy that changes the lives of patients with atrial fibrillation.
  • Work in a collaborative and mission‑driven team while expanding your clinical and international experience.
