About the role: Creates, updates, and maintains labeling text, graphics, and specifications for new and existing medical device products.  Coordinates with Engineering, Marketing, Clinical Research, and Regulatory Affairs to define product labeling requirements.  Designs and updates labels and labeling to ensure accuracy, visual appeal, cost efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company requirements.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Under minimal supervision coordinates and creates labeling deliverables.
  • Assists with developing and implementing labeling strategies for new and modified medical devices, as part of Product Development Process (PDP) deliverables.
  • Coordination and creation of the data to the label database and label format using corporate label software.
  • Coordination and creation of the content for directions for use (DFUs).
  • Collaborates to gather input for labels and labeling from Engineering, Marketing, Clinical Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs to define specific requirements for product labeling by attending project meetings and meeting with or talking to individual content experts as necessary.
  • Responsible for coordinating cross-functional team reviews and Windchill change activities for the approval and release of labeling and other labeling artwork components.
  • Responsible for communicating timelines of the labeling deliverables with cross-functional team and project manager for the approval and release of labeling and other labeling artwork components.
  • Responsible for creation of new, and changes to, miscellaneous labeling and packaging components based on pre-existing formats and design.
  • Communicate with outside vendors regarding labeling and packaging artwork and proofing.
  • Responsible for maintenance of all Labeling filing systems, paper based and online.
  • Responsible for the coordination of translations for labeling using translation vendors.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, while complying with good manufacturing practices (GMPs), regulatory, quality systems standards and labeling requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in science, technical communication, or other technical field or 2-year vocational tech degree 
  • 3 to 5 years medical device manufacturing product labeling
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office 
  • Travel up to 10% may be required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adobe Suite Creative Suite experience strongly preferred
  • MS Office and MS Project experience strongly preferred
  • Nice Label, Bartender or similar label design software and database experience preferred
  • Direct labeling or technical writing experience desired
